Na, I know exactly how many models there are in the box, I'm just saying that GW never cares if the size of a box justifies the prices they recommend [except in this instance of course]

True, but with Blood Reavers in a box of 20, not 10, and certainly not a box priced at USD 55,-, the rest of said rumor is likely also in the "made-up-maybe-something-sticks" category (surprise), including the highly anticipated plastic Fleshhounds.

Pretty cool fig and the price is very good. But the AoS relases have been really boring so far. it's hard to get excited about this game when the only things we got so far are the multipart version of the starter set miniatures (except for a few exception, like the archers and the characters). It's starting to get really stale.

£2 a figure is good value by normal GW standards. Are Blood Reavers any good in game?

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

I think if you give it another month or 2 they will get through all of the starter set stuff and start getting into new models for other armies. They probably figure more folks will want to boost the armies they already have from the starter and want to get them out of the way before other stuff.

The archers just look the Starter set guys with bows nothing really exciting except maybe the Griffin dog guy has excited me really.

Even skull face from the Starter lost my attention.

Very good.

Bloodreavers can get up to 5 attacks(6 for their unit leader) per model given certain circumstances.
+1 attack for the "Rage of Khorne" ability from the Bloodsecrator opening up the Portal of Skulls during your Hero Phase
+1 attack for being within 12" of a Chaos Totem
+1 attack for a Khorne Exalted Hero utilizing his "Bloodlord" Command Ability
+1 attack if they are within 3 inches of a Wrathmonger, per the Wrathmonger's "Blood Haze" ability

Additionally, with the "Rage of Khorne" ability from Portal of Skulls comes immunity to Battleshock, which is huge for models with no armor save.

In all honesty, I've played against and with the new Khorne stuff three or four times now--and it's scary as all hell to be facing down a group of 40 Bloodreavers with just their little twin knives that are hitting on 4+ and wounding on 4+, with rerolls of hit rolls of 1 and a Rend value of nothing.
The thought of them getting a two handed axe that is 4+/4+ with a Rend of -1 is downright terrifying.

Count me slightly disappointed. I think that multi-part Bloodreavers look worse than those from the Age of Sigmar boxed set. Having multiple options often results in design compromises and these are no exception. The shoulders on hand weapon arms look awful . Great weapon arms are somewhat better. Looks like I might build them all armed with great weapons.

That place is the harsh dark future far left with only war left.

They look about the same to me like. More interested in the blood warriors kit when that comes though I expect that will be 5 for £30 again which will be the main negative.

Really hoping they get the characters out that are mentioned in the book soon more than anything though

New bloodreavers with 2 handed weapons look GREAT!

Really tempted to get some.

Can't believe they are releasing another giant book already... It takes a long time to put together an army. I'm sure most are still painting the starter set... and already there are two massive books? Who's gonna keep up with that rate?

Bye bye Dakkadakka, happy hobbying! I really enjoyed my time on here. Opinions were always my own :-)

I don't believe that's going to happen since this is entirely too much effort for GW to put into a fantasy game. My theory is that the models from The End Times *are* the "new" models for each AoS faction (assuming your faction got any). It'll be back to 40k as usual soon imo and AoS will fade into nothingness with as much inspiration as it was born with.

cross post just FYI

http://www.pcgamesn.com/total-war-warhammer/what-the-new-age-of-sigmar-timeline-means-for-total-war-warhammer

Total War: Warhammer might be the most natural pairing in all of games, bringing Games Workshop's huge Warhammer fantasy universe into contact with Creative Assembly's franchise of massive scale war games. Its time was less so, coming just before a major reboot to the tabletop game that moved the universe into a new continuity call the Age of Sigmar. Jeremy sat down with CA's Andy Hall to ask what that meant for the game.

"The way I see it is, we've always been a historical war-game maker [laughs] and that's exactly what we're doing, it's just this one's based in fantasy. Our game's very much based in the age of Karl Franz, which is 2502 [when] he became the emperor. That's pretty much where we're staying. 8th edition, so to speak."

So definitely still a classic-Warhammer game, then. However, Andy didn't totally close the door on expanding, "Saying that, Age of Sigmar looks great, I've got a copy of it already and the minatures are fantastic. So I'm sure we'll be keeping an eye on that in the future."

The relationship between Games Workshop and Creative Assembly is obviously only just beginning, but if the game does well, clearly there's hope for it to continue. I myself have my heart set on a Total War in the galactic sphere of Warhammer 40,000, perhaps starting as a game about the Great Crusade and running you all the way through to the end of the Horus Heresy. Just imagining that game gets me salivating, so seeing what CA and GW actually come up with will be fascinating.

We just have to hope this first game is good and does well. We've had some hands-on time in Germany and will have an in-depth preview for you soon. While you're waiting here's the latest trailer, featuring dive-bombing goblins.

We'll find out soon enough eh.

Welp, there goes hope that Realhammer would survive from now on in CA games. No doubt they'll finish out the planned expandalones/DLCs for this title and then, if they get the license again, it'll be Age of Kool Aid time.

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?

Picked up the Paladins and the Dragonfate Dias today; I didn't get the Occulam (partly becausae I bought a whole bunch of 40k stuff).

The Paladins are really cool -- they come on 3 sprues and have very nice weapon options/bits. The halberds are 2 parts, with the head separate from the shaft, which kind of bugs me, because glued, they're just less resilient to dropping than if it's a single piece of plastic. But generally, the weapons look outstanding.

You can see that the kits are going the direction of space marines, with many interchangeable parts with other Stormcast Eternals kits, too.

I really, REALLY like the Dragonfate Dias. I have no idea what I'll do with it, but I'm definitely going to paint that puppy up!

Will the blood guys of blood from the starter set be getting new units like the sigmarites did or is the warriors of chaos army their additional units? I know that since sigmar was brand new they might have needed more units but i was still curious about starter set chaos.

That was the rumor, right? That there would be a month of Choas. I dunno that there has been any confirmation or details, though, and of course, the devil is in the details.

It sure looks nice. Does it feel stable enough? It seems like it can only be glued by the stairs and the top looks a bit heavy with all four statues.

About the stairs, can you make a figurine stand on the small ones or do you absolutely have to put them on the bigger platforms?

I'm waiting for the game table. It should be very nice with all those terrains, with a very "high fantasy" feeling.

Nope. Khorne got a few releases in End Times and are due for more this month and following (assuming not all this moth). Including but not limited too Blood Reavers, Blood Warriors, Slaughter priest, skull grinder and death bringers and huge pinch of salt plastic flesh hounds

AoS releases are running into October when new tau codex hits, this has been long rumoured. Then it will go to a month on month kind of release. GW wont just throw AoS away just cause certain folk want/think that. Gw have had this idea for years and have put a lot into this. Expect the same for 40k at some point starting with the rumoured heresy box which supposedly has similar rules to AoS

Honestly I think its pretty brilliant. The one thing a lot of people rightly complained about with 40k recently was that GW were to quick to release new editions of books which required players to drop another ~$60 to keep playing.

The beauty of AoS on the otherhand is that since all the essential rules are free, you aren't required to pick up every new book they release. Instead you can pick up whichever campaign book interests you or specifically features the factions you play, and what you get is some more fluff and a collection of prebuilt scenarios to recreate what you're reading about. And if that doesn't tickles your fancy then theres no reason to feel like you're missing out.
