Finished another unit yesterday, a 'meltacide' assault squad built from Assault Marine, Vanguard Veteran and Blood Angels Tactical Squad kits. Annoying they brought out the assault kit right after I built these! These guys will be riding in a drop pod.

C&C welcome!

They're nice, clean paintjobs, but the yellow helmets don't seem to fit with the deep shaded style used on the rest of the miniature. Either slightly heavier shading on the helmets, or carrying over some similarly bright yellow detailing elsewhere on the models would help tie them together better.

Ilike the purple seals, and the melta barrels look great.

Oi! you forgot the meltabombs

Seriously nice painting on these models, you have done them justice.

If I have to provide one bit of constructive criticism, it would be to agree the helmets are too bright for the rest of the model. You have a very subdued/muted red going, but have 'in your face' yellow on the helmets. Maybe a darker shade of yellow or more washing to bring its lustre in line with the armour. As it is, they still look phenomenal though.

Thanks for the comments guys!

Age old excuse I know but I have to say – the yellow does not look as bright in real life! They are probably a bit too bright in reality but the photos are a bit over exposed which exaggerates it. The same is true of the sarge's face.

Anyhoo, I'm glad y'all like em

I like strong tonal contrast. And I like yellow. They look just right to me.

Thanks guys. I actually agree the helms are a bit bright (although they really are exaggerated by the photo) but I'm glad some people like them!

@ ColFaz you may get to see them in the flesh before long and can verify my story
