Baneblade Escort

This formation contains:

1x Baneblade Variant
1x Tank Commander Squadron (May upgrade to Pask)
0-6 Leman Russ Squadrons
1x Techpriest
0-1 Units of Servitors
0-1 Chimera

While the Baneblade variant is still alive, all vehicles in this formation within 18" of the Baneblade have Pinning, Fleshbane and Armourbane special rules to all of their shooting attacks. This includes the Baneblade.

How about no, because you would just run all punishers for your russes and take pask to get 420 shots every turn capable of wounding everything on a 2+ and glance amy vehicle to death with that amount of shots.

Fluff wise, why on earth would this formation allow Heavy Bolters to wound Wraithknights on 2's? Give Heavy Bolters the ability to pen Land Raiders? Don't say special ammo, otherwise everyone would have it.

How can you of thought this would be OK in your head?

Mostly because it's funny and ill thought out. Partly because it's the level of rediculous GW will probably do anyway.


And partly because I wanted to prove to a friend that other people will react to Fleshbane/Armourbane HB spam, as he suggested it as something GW should to to rebalance the AM codex.

The problem with trying to buff AM is that pretty much everything they get, sm get access too as well. Buff heavy bolters, SM player will either get buffed or complain they're heavy bolters arent as good. The only way to effectively do it now would be to buff they're more unique stuff like manticores and hydras and such. You cant even upgrade basalisks as SM get them through forgeworld.

I like this it would finally give the Imperial Guard an edge over the other codexes

That's why GW should give us new vehicles. Give us a Sturmtiger/jagdtiger style Leman Russ variant with Strength D weapons, little panzer IV style ones that are like Predators, etc. etc., stuff like Combat engineers, medics.
