Take it with a heap of salt, but it is one of those times where GW actually makes sense. Also the fact that they actually communicating their plans is pretty big. I am anxious to find out what their plans will be and I hope this will compel a few nay-sayers to approach this with an open mind and give it a chance.

There is not this idea.

I'm not sure I have enough salt for that.

And if those quotes are true, then my nay-saying is only going to get louder.

This is old news I'm afraid and to be frank it doesn't amount to much anyway.

Well, you have no idea yet, do you. No one has until they actually make the step and do something. Until then it is all just speculation and waiting. Well, mostly waiting.

The same company that released 40k 7th releases a "balanced" ruleset, yay!

Seriously, though, anything is better than the state AoS is in right now.

Old news is old, though.

GW are apparently adamant that there will never be points values. Points values are vitally important in the majority of wargames, certainly in the casual style of game that AoS evidently is.

Actually we do have an idea, GW have said that there isn't more coming.

Oh, I certainly vote with my dollar, but the problem is that that is not enough. The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.

This is difficult.
You would need to take all warscrolls into account.

When I saw the link took me to Natfka, I didn't bother to look at it to know that it was circumspect rumors/gossip.

It's amusing to see so many people holding out this hope that GW has this giant blanket that they are holding over the "real rules" for AoS, and will reveal them any day now. As if it's some kind of joke they are playing at our expense.

Well, the joke is on us, because AoS are the rules, all four pages of them.

They could always go a simplistic route and just leave out points but categorize all Warscrolls as something like "Heroes, Core Troops, Uncommon and Rare Units" like categories from normal Fantasy Battles, and have armies being built from percentages of each.

Then the assumption could be made that even without printed points costs, each warscroll is balances against the others from their category.

Still better than nothing.

*Also, base each warscroll against what that box of troops makes (or less if the player chooses), rather than the infinite-size ones they can be now.
