Hi everyone just a quick question
Can I use models from forge worlds such as the dark elder Tantalus, reaper and raven fighter in normal games if their not super heavy or is it only in apocalypse. I personally dont think the Tantalus but I love the model and would love to use it in smaller games.

Thank you

Depends where you play. Some places still ban Forge World, but they are legal models in general. Even the superheavies. If the model has a 40k stamp on the page with the rules, it's legal for use. If it has an Apocalypse stamp, not legal for 40k.

They are legal in normal games. The Tantalus is kind of middle of the road, and the Raven is just bad. But the Reaper is pretty sweet.

The Tantalus is unbelievably fragile.

Quick question. Which IA are the Dark Eldar in? I only own a couple and I haven't paid attention since IA 11.

This line of reasoning broke 7th edition in Fantasy. The books should be as equal as possible, even a theoretical "Codex: Squirrels with Crustacean allies" should have a fair chance to beat "Codex: God".

Lol, even more so. I don't know of a way to safely transport it. All the ones I've ever seen are kept at the players FLGS.

Ahhh you are talking in the more literal sense. Yeah I hear that. I have a heck of a time keeping my reaper sail attached just moving the mini from my upstairs computer room down to the game table. Don't have a tantalus yet, but eventually hope to. Good to know it will be even more fragile.

Yeah I had to have things pinned in place on mine but not glued so I could remove the sails. Even then the spikey bits would come off all the time. I had heard the Tantalus and Reaper models are why FW hasn't revisited DE. Too big a pain to mold with all their little tiny bits and then the utter fragility of them.

If you dont short hand your list, Im not reading it.
Example: Assault Intercessors- x5 -Thunder hammer and plasma pistol on sgt.
or Assault Terminators 3xTH/SS, 2xLCs
For the love of God, GW, get rid of reroll mechanics. ALL OF THEM!

Yep, from what I remember when the Tantalus came out, that was essentially the size limit for DE whilst maintaining the aesthetic. Resin just isn't as strong as plastic, especially on thin parts.

See, you're trying to use people logic. DM uses Mandelogic, which we've established has 2+2=quack. - Aerethan

I should really paint some of my models instead of browsing forums.

Ultimately that is a shame because I think the designers over at Forge World could do some really cool models for the DE if the medium allowed it better.

I'll be amazed if they ever do another DE model.
