I'm currently on the fourth - The Flight of Eisentstein and I wonder how more books I have to read untill I reach the columination. Or... is there such a book, cause goodreads points 30 novels and the last ten got really bad rating.

I could be wrong since I didn't keep up with all the HH book release, but I'm pretty sure they haven't reached the Siege of Terra and have not cover past Calth and battle after Isstvan V but they do a lot of back and forth in the timeline. Black Library is probably not in a hurry to reach the end anytime soon.

Not yet. Probably not for a long time.
They dragged it out so much they burnt the writers out.
So most of the good ones have gone off to write a different period or a completely, different franchise.
But dont worry they'll find someone to write something irrelevant to the story. Charge you premium $ and have something about the Emp trimming his toe nails on some back water, dirt world.

I'm not convinced they're ever actually going to get that far.
Being that they can continue putting out novels in between, ending the series would be killing off a serious source of income.
I was pretty bewildered that it hadn't got that far when I started reading, as well.

The HH novels haven't come anywhere near that point.
The current narrative of the Battle of Terra comes from the Index Astartes articles of White Dwarf, then later the Collected Visions artbook.

Would any of us actually read about that part of the heresy? I mean it's been covered in nearly every codex, hell I think even my 8th ed High Elves army book starts with how the Emperor created the Primarchs!

Yeah, sadly we're no where close to the 'end' of the BL HH series.
If I had to guess?
At least 5 to 7 years more to go.
Wouldn't be shocked if it was 10 though.
Or more.

A pity.
They're down to 1 game 40k, with AoS and the hobbit being so-so innovations, and now they even beat the single fluff-line they have like a dead horse.
How about advancing the plot a little in 40k, huh?

Thing is, when the series reaches terra, there will still be a long way to go until the final battle. I really think people will get bored and give up on the series long before they reach the end.

Absolutely I would read that part.
It's been covered as a bare-bones summary in the codexes, but not really in any sort of detail. We know what happened, but we don't have the story of how it happened. Or all of the other things that happened to get to the end game.
I very much expect that the battle at Terra will be considerably more than one book.

Well I was being facetious but...
I would be interested in the siege of Terra, of course. However the whole story is a little old now. I mean it's been flogged so much, and with the way the HH books are going I can't really say I'm all that excited about it. I mean, yeah I'll read about it, but I'm not gonna be waiting outside the bookstore or anything.
