I've been following the numerous Age of Sigmund Freud for a while and to be honest it's left me baffled.
1) Warhammer fantasy battle has been eradicated in favour of what seems on the face of it, a glorified new version of Mordheim?
2) They change the shape of the bases and helpfully 'suggest' that you may like to follow suit? They'll understand if you don't but it would be cool if you did?
3) If you rebase your fantasy army it makes it nearly bloody impossible to use them in any other system? Why would you want to do that anyway?
4) GW ride to the rescue! Just incase you want to rebase all your fantasy minis(remem.it would be cool if you would comply) We have bags of round bases due to be released to help you in what will be a mammoth task! We'll even charge you lots for the privilege!
5) You must have the official scenery to play this game! Alright, you don't but again it would be cool if you did?
6) The game is aimed at newcomers to the hobby! Ehm? Seeing as they don't actually advertise at all and seem to be rather proud of this fact, who are these newcomers?
7) The minis. While it will be cool with us if you used your existing minis we'd really appreciate it if you bought some of the new ones! Oh! By the way, we've change the production process making the minis difficult to convert or even be changed by the pesky after market companys who are out there!
8) Do you really want to convert your army on which you've spent a fortune painting and basing just to play a glorified version of Mordheim?
9) Isn't it time you stopped mourning the loss of WFB and started looking around for a better(and lets face it,any system is better than WFB!) system?
10) Just because you have a GW army does not mean you have to play only GW games!
Enough said!

Not really. Mordheim was more of a skirmish style game with models acting individually, with the goal of collecting treasure and gaining experience to improve your warband over a series of battles. The closest analog to that Age of Sigmar has is the Triumph Table, which gives you some bonuses for your next game if you win.

2) They change the shape of the bases and helpfully 'suggest' that you may like to follow suit? They'll understand if you don't but it would be cool if you did?

Bases don't matter at all for gameplay. The official stance is "whatever you think looks best".
3) If you rebase your fantasy army it makes it nearly bloody impossible to use them in any other system? Why would you want to do that anyway?

Not really? Kings of War, for example, uses element basing, so you can plug those round bases into a movement tray and play just fine. Same goes for other rank and file games, just match the footprint with a movement tray and go to town.

4) GW ride to the rescue! Just incase you want to rebase all your fantasy minis(remem.it would be cool if you would comply) We have bags of round bases due to be released to help you in what will be a mammoth task! We'll even charge you lots for the privilege!

Yes, GW have made and are selling a product.
5) You must have the official scenery to play this game! Alright, you don't but again it would be cool if you did?

Really the only official scenery you need is the Sylvaneth Wyldwoods (old Citadel Woods), as that's the only one explicitly called out in rules. Even The Watchtower scenario says "you can use a watchtower model, but you can also just use a forest, a hill, or maybe some fences"
6) The game is aimed at newcomers to the hobby! Ehm? Seeing as they don't actually advertise at all and seem to be rather proud of this fact, who are these newcomers?

My FLGS (which is primarily a store for board games) has a sign for Age of Sigmar. And obviously the model boxes are going to draw some attention.
7) The minis. While it will be cool with us if you used your existing minis we'd really appreciate it if you bought some of the new ones! Oh! By the way, we've change the production process making the minis difficult to convert or even be changed by the pesky after market companys who are out there!

Yes, a company sells their product, and prefers that you buy their product. However, considering how many Sigmarine conversions I've seen, I feel like they're not really more difficult to convert. You may be thinking of the starter set models, which are designed differently (more simply) to be easier to assemble in a good looking way (hiding mould lines/gaps, etc) and are thus harder to convert due to the obscurity of design.
8) Do you really want to convert your army on which you've spent a fortune painting and basing just to play a glorified version of Mordheim?

Some people might, some people might not. As said above, it's not a glorified version of Mordheim.
9) Isn't it time you stopped mourning the loss of WFB and started looking around for a better(and lets face it,any system is better than WFB!) system?

Some people are, some people aren't.
10) Just because you have a GW army does not mean you have to play only GW games!

True.
Enough said!

Thank goodness.

5) You don't have to use official scenery, but the hefty buffing rules applied to it might be an additional shiny thing dangled in front of punters' eyes.

9, 10) Did that years ago.

I'm sooo, sooo sorry.
