Holy boot leather Batman! http://www.kansascity.com/news/state/missouri/article29409310.html Python lives matter! 160-pound, 15-foot python killed in rural Missouri neighborhood JONESBURG, Mo. – A giant snake has finally been killed in eastern Missouri’s Warren County after terrifying a neighborhood for several days. KTVI-TV reports that the nearly 15-foot-long, 160-pound Burmese python was fatally shot about 2:30 a.m. Tuesday in a rural area of the county, about 50 miles west of St. Louis. Neighbors believe the snake was responsible for the deaths of some small animals. Early Tuesday, Pauline Horstdaniel was awakened by her barking dog and saw the snake. She called her father-in-law, who used a shotgun to kill it. Burmese pythons are not native to Missouri but can be purchased as exotic pets. A Missouri Department of Conservation official says owners have been known to dump them in the wild when they get too big to handle. Supposedly they've gone feral around the gulf, too. Saw an article where supposedly the did a little research and claim the pythons can survive as far north as Tennessee without difficulty.

Pythons are destroying the Everglades. They have no predators, are destroying the native species, and are breeding out of control. I'm pretty sure there's a bounty on them in some areas. They really need to be regulated a lot more tightly than they are, and fines for dumping pets should be insanely high.

We had a cobra get loose in Austin and Houston.
Pythons should watch out. They make excellent boots.

If there were multiple missing pets, the snake almost certainly isn't to blame for most of them. A small dog would be food for a couple months, even for a snake that size.
Well, Rattlesnake tastes like chicken kinda. So something like that.
