Hello my fellow painters,

After the successful launch of our acrylic paint line (www.warcolours.com), consisting of 92 beautiful colors, we have embarked on our trip to our next target, which was to produce a high quality, yet affordable, line of metallic paints.

We have sent out 40 bottles of our BETA testing copper paint to miniature painters all over the world. The feedback was really good and everybody really liked the paint. (see the online discussions here: http://www.coolminiornot.com/forums/showthread.php?60756-warcolours-metallic-paints-beta-testing).

After making the required alterations to the paint formulas, the metallic paints have been perfected and are ready to be launched.

We have formulated a total of 20 different metallic paints, making the WARCOLOURS metallic range the most versatile metallic range out there. We have even managed to offer metallic colours that have never been seen by miniature painters before (i.e. metallic red), and some classic metallics, missed by many are offered (i.e. violet, blue, green etc).

Why pre-order?

First of all you will receive a discounted price and secondly: Paint production and bottle filling, requires exact quantities, Rather than producing an estimated amount of bottles for each metallic colour and risking under/over-production (leading to delays, time-wasting and increased costs), we decided to offer them as a pre-order. This way we will be producing the correct number of bottles for each colour, minimising our costs and ultimately offering the best possible price.

Quite honestly the Copper is one of the best paints I've ever had the fortune to try out. Really rich colour, covers pretty well, and you guys had the foresight to stick a small agitator in there. Nothing to dislike.

we hope that you will find the rest of the metallics as good as the copper. all metallics will include 2 small glass agitators as standard (instead of one bigger as the beta testing). we use glass which is inert material compared to steel.

Oh gosh, you made coloured metalics ... you swine!

I already have like 40 GW paints and would hate to switch over to another brand, but your prices are good and the colour selection seems smashing. You fancy doing a trade in program

How long until Pre-Order stops? I've already spent my cash for this month ...

those colours are easily obtained by mixing the apropriate colour with a metalic medium.
also vallejo offers 32 metalic colours, so not the most varity.
adertisements in this forum are in my oppinion also out of place.

all colours can be obtained by mixing basic colours...
everybody is welcome to make their own paint mixtures.
i am not sure where you found 32 metallics in the vallejo paints. I can only find 18 original colours.
this is not an advert. it is an informative post.
thank you anyway for taking the time to reply

While posts from the OP could be considered advertising, this is something that I would otherwise not have seen. It is posts like this with new techniques, products, styles that is the reason I read these forums (well, some of you are starting to grow on my).

When I buy more paints, I will give you a go poison

Also, Warcolours have been specifically working to improve through feedback with the painting community. This isn't a hit-and-run topic. Poison_ comes here every few weeks, talks with members for feedback, offers discount codes occasionally, etc. and even offers swatch-matching if you mail in a painted paper with a colour you can no longer get.

I haven't bought into their stuff in a big way because I don't have a lot of disposable income for paint, but I appreciate when a company is trying to treat folk right.
They're trying to learn from us and actually listen. There's room for topics like this, from companies like this.

In my oppinion its advertisement.
When there would be pictures showing the colours, colourchartexamples or lets say pictures of minis painted Then it would be informative

Well, I wouldn't have found this company without their other topics, and I wouldn't have some of the nicest paints I currently own. So along with kb, I don't rightly care if it is advertising, because it's relevant.
If they were trying to sell us shoes or biscuits, my jimmies would be rustled.

Also worth considering - seldom do advertisements allow for discussion beneath them. By posting a topic, a company is open to good and bad comments, which is quite a gamble for a newly established line.

(There's a free to download colour chart of the entire range on their website)

Copper has been the easiest metallic to get right since at least the old Ral Partha colors, so while I understand why they'd start with that, its not as powerful a beta test as I'd like.

I'm interested to see the rest of the range, and hopefully ya'll will get US distributing, as I'm not sure I want to pay shipping for a handful of paints.

that's a fine opinion to have, and certainly, the OP is posting here to drive sales of his product. Dakka has always allowed small hobby business to start threads. The rules require that posts be on topic, polite, and non-spammy. This is certainly of interest, on topic, and polite. So I don't see a problem with it.

And placing it in P&M makes sense, because that's where the target audience is.

If nothing else, we want to avoid the pathetic ritual of having the company ask a friend to post saying "hey, look at this cool new company I found!"

I also got the Beta metallic. Did not get time to test it until recently. It was excellent though! I will absolutely get some more paints from Warcolours. The shipping from cyprus was rather quick and quite cheap.
