So I'm coming back to X Wing and have bought into the Scum and Villainy Faction.
I bought one of everything in the faction so far and two Aggressor IG88 as the store guy said these are really good.
I don't particularly want to jump onto the bandwagon of going with a double Aggressor build, so what other builds are there?

Kath Scarlet w/Opportunist can be pretty fun and downright scary for your opponent if you fly her well.

Speaking o f that, I really wanna try a 2+ Aggressor build some day, but I don't really play like that.
But I personally like the Interceptors. Access to good guns, agile, and I like the models. They are very "glass cannon", though.
Kath Scarlet is probably the best Firespray pilot, in my opinion. And I've run her with Expose, so based on how well you fly and your opponent's positioning, you could potentially roll 6 attack dice (3 base, +1 close range, +1 Expose, +1 Rear Arc)

I've never used big ships.
I had a 2 E Wing and a B Wing build that was undefeated vs Imperials and I still think that was by fluke.
I like the look of Kath, but the lure of Y Wings with Ion Turrets and Dace, but I doubt it will have enough grunt.

Yeah, I could see that list doing pretty well. But Big ships are still good, and tons of fun, in my opinion.

Bob + Predator + Mangler Cannon is a beast.
I ran him initially with Merc Copilot too, but had to cut that for points, but if there's room in your list then worth considering.
The real beauty is that it works without needing actions, and normally has enough rerolls to make TL redundant, so I habitually Evade, giving the whole thing a nice durability boost, but if I need to fly over an obstacle or pull a red manoeuvre to get optimum position, it barely impacts the effectiveness at all.

If you find yourself facing alot of turrets, the IG-88C with auto-thrusters can be rather obnoxious.

I think turrets are going to quickly become obsolete with Auto Thrusters being released, which is a shame as I wanted a turret centric build.
Has anyone tried Emon yet? He looks like fun.

Autothrusters have been out for a while... and guess what, turrets aren't obsolete. Last week was the X-Wing US Nationals at GenCon. Out of the top 16, there was one Brobrots list (B & C, both with Autothrusters among other things) that placed fifth and one Oicunn/Soontir ( PtL + Autothruster + Stealth Device + RG title) list that placed second. That is two lists with a total of three ships equipped with Autothrusters. Out of the top 16, there was eight turret lists, including the winner (also the guy that came in second place). Turrets are still really good.

360 degree fire arc is not something to take lightly. It grants far more forgiveness for bad maneuvering, where bad maneuvering can ruin jouster lists. It means that even "I have you now" moments where you get directly behind your opponent aren't safe.
Think of it this way. FFG decided +1 attack to a turret (i.e., Punishing One title) is worth 12 points; 12 points could also buy me an entire other ship, even if it is just a Binayre Priate.
And even then, only a few ships have a full built-in turret:
YT-1300, YT-2400, K-Wing (oddly enough), VT-49 Decimator, and Jumpmaster 5,000. Most of those are A2, with the Decimator being the only exception. 5 ships.
Turret upgrade slots are limited to a handful of ships: HWK and Y-Wing currently, with the K-Wing coming, followed by the VCX-100. 4 ships, one of which already has a build in primary turret (the K-Wing).
A one-shot A3 turret is 3 points.
Turrets aren't going anywhere. Even if Autothrusters give you an extra Evade result, I'm still taking shots I wouldn't be able to even take without a turret.

If you're asking for 'other good builds', scum Z-95s can be pretty nasty. A swarm of the buggers with Feeback Arrays are very good because you've got the option of unavoidable damage up your sleeve - yes, it hurts you too, but it's pretty damn effective against anything which normally relies on tokens or dice to evade damage, and you've still got a swarm able to target lock to shoot at people normally.

Turrets are definitely good. Granted, I haven't played this game nearly as long as others on these forums, nor do I do competitions, but in my experiences, Turrets do work. Heck, I taught my friend how to play last night, and he ignored Han Solo and went for my A-wings. Then he found out about turrets, and said "Yeah no, if I had known that, that thing would've died first".

Wow, actually you're right. I just got to use it for the first time last night, and I didn't even look at the base pilot. Wow, that's the first time I've seen a different pilot actually have a different attack value on the same ship.

Makes sense, since the Falcon was so heavily modified even before Han got it. Odd in that something like that is typically handled by a title card.

Actually what is weird, Chewie, Lando and Han Ships have 3 attacks in a YT-1300, the "Millennium Falcon" title just adds evade action. So it has nothing to do with the Falcons mod's. In FFG's game anyway. Those three just pull the trigger quicker.

Right, but I still think the Millennium Falcon title should have handled the extra attack dice as well. I guess since it was one of the earlier wave ships, FFG hadn't quite got the formula right....by the way, is there at least a 12 point difference from Han/Chewie/Lando from the stock YT-1300 pilots? I don't play rebels so I have no idea what the cost is.

Going from the Outer Rim Smuggler to Chewbacca (the cheapest of the pilots) is 15 points. What you get for that is the +1 attack, +4 Pilot skill, and his ability.

Well, that makes me feel SLIGHTLY better about the Punishing One's title cost.
Edit: NM, I saw the other response about the other increases.....still annoyed by a 12 point cost to upgrade the primary weapon by 1 attack. Maybe there are other cheaper upgrades available that will make up for it.

Going from the Outer Rim Smuggler to Chewbacca cost 15 points more but you get for those points;
+4 Pilot Skill with special ability
+1 Damage
+2 Hull
+1 Shields
EPT and Missile Slot.
Dengar paying 12 points for +1 damage only, I'm thinking he must have an amazing dial.

If the rumors hold up, he might just do it. Last thing I read was a white S-Loop, which if true, is amazing when combined with his pilot ability.

Dengar appears to have a 2 white Segnor Loop. I would imagine he also needs 1 white hard turns and 5-6 green moves to help justified the cost.

And yeah, Dengar definitely has a 2 S-loop. You can see it in the preview pictures on Fantasy Flight's page.

Yes, it is unique in that regard. It made sense for game mechanics at the time, but I think the addition of a title card to upgrade the attack (or any other stat for that matter) is a better solution and I can definitely see FFG doing something like this again because it makes more sense for fluff reasons.

I've used A list comprised of:
Boba Fet
Gunner
Vet Instincts
Inertial Dampeners
Engine upgrade
N'dru Suhlak
Lone Wolf
Inertial Dampeners
Kaa'to Leachos
Bodyguard
Inertial Dampeners
Banayre Pirate
Although I've had success with this (I came second in a tournament, because I confused two of my headhunters dials. Kaa'to flew off the board and N'dru flew into a rock at range 1 of Fat Han ), I think replacing N'dru with a Kirakxzkxk when it comes out would be better. You could probably adapt this. Since you don't have Engine upgrades, drop N'dru, engine ups and Intertial Dampeners off of Kaa'to, and replace it with a Y-wing or Starviper. I've tried it, and its a bit of a lateral shift (Boba is weaker, but the Y-wing actually works better with the rest of the list). Boba does most of the work, either backed by the Viper/Khrxmcvnbczzz/Y-wing, or with N'dru sniping from the flanks. Since you don't have engine upgrades, you could look for other 1-point upgrades , as Veteran Instincts is less useful without the high PS.
Boba Fet
Gunner
Vet Instincts
Inertial Dampeners
Y-wing
BTL-A4
Ion Cannon
Aggromech
Kaa'to Leachos
Bodyguard
Banayre Pirate
