I'm trying to make a wet palette at home, I have a wonderful little water tight container and sponge but I'm struggling to find what to use as parchment paper?
Swedish brands don't seem to have Parchment Paper written on them, I've got Toppits Bakplåttspapper but that seems to be waxed or something so it's not really doing much in the way of absorbing water =/
So... the question is, what is parchment paper called over here? O,o

That's parchment paper, it shouldn't absorb water like a paper towel, but rather feel clammy. If you wet the sponge and put that on it, does it feel that way?

Some locations may call it Grease proof paper rather than Parchment paper.

Or try this brown packing paper for parcels. Or coloured paper from library or book sellers

Those wouldn't work and would probably impart fibers into your pallet which is bad.

It doesn't feel clammy at all =/ just one side totally dry and the other wrinkles a bit but still feels dry. I can try painting on it later and see if my fingers suck ... on the other hand it seems to be silicon coated.... so perhaps back to the supermarket to find something not waxed or silicon-y *face desks*

Try looking for Cookie paper or the likes.

It shouldn't be waxy but it shouldn't be rough at all.

Otherwise you may have to get something like privater press wet pallet paper since that should work.

Sorry for the Scando lingo. But didn't remember what the paper was called in English. Sorry, my bad. :p

I have used bakplåtspapper in the past. Some brands work, some don't. I think I used something cheap. Brown, thin, smooth and no anti-stick surface. ICA? Then I got lazy and got P3 Wet Palette Refill Pads. Cost like 100 SEK, but they are made for the purpose and a pack will last you a long time.

Note that it is not absorbtion you are after. Water should just barely pass through, keeping the paint wet.

Thank you Zoat ^^
Going to grab some cheap stuff from Willys tomorrow so hopefully that'll work! =D
