So when you have a Mark of Chaos you automatically know the Primaris Power associated with that mark. The mark of each god (excluding Khorne) states that a psyker with that mark must generate at least one power from the corresponding discipline. Does knowing the primaris power automatically count me as having generated from that discipline allowing me to fully generate from another discipline if I choose?
Thanks

Automatically known powers are not generated, so you must also generate a power.

And you don't automatically get the primaris power just for having that Mark. You have to generate completely from a discipline to get the primaris for free. And since you can only roll half (rounding up) of your powers from the tables of the selected god, you NEVER get the primaris for free.

I guess that depends in what camp you are. For some people know = generated, for other not. For me know, is not generated, so you still have to roll at least once.

Why the frick isn't that in the CSM codex?? Or the CSM FAQ?? That is an amazingly stupid place to hide a rule unique to two armies. And here I was even checking the codex before posting just in case I had missed it.

Roflmao.
Yea, its very easy to miss. I think it was in the faqs at one point though. Just like abaddon couldn't be turned into a gribbly mess, which is gone too. But yea, GW has a nasty habit of of hiding important rules.

It is a generated spell so it does count for the one spell you must know

Chaos Psychic Focus "If a Psyker has a Mark of Chaos or is a Daemon of a particular Chaos God (see Codex: Chaos Space Marines or Codex: Chaos Daemons), that model automatically knows the primaris power of the discipline that corresponds to their patron deity, in addition to any other powers it knows." No where does it say its generated.

"Psykers generate their psychic powers before the game begins"
"In some army lists entries, a psyker will have one or more specific psychic powers listed. These psyker said always start the game with those psychic powers"
There is nowehere in the rule book that allows for what you are claiming

If this is in response to the chaos focus that CrownAxe posted then you will find it on 22.

Regardless of if the chaos focus is generated or not, you need to roll at least once on the gods table as stated on page 70 of the CSM codex....
If the Psyker has a Mark of Chaos, or is a Daemon of a particular Chaos God, they must roll at least one, and may roll up to half, of their powers on the table that corresponds to their patron deity.

The word "roll" and "generate" is used in a few times in different places. Because of this, my group at home ignores the requirement for Marked psykers to roll on their chart.
We found that the restriction/requirements rule of the Marks just didn't meld well with 7th ed.. Not even Chaos Focus, really.. It's just all weird.
When I play up at the store, I play it like the majority- I always roll a single time on Tzeentch.. So don't say that I'm trying to cheat or anything.
I am simply encouraging others to consider that the wording is silly and it seems more appropriate to play it like how the Chaos Daemons use their powers.
Aspiring Sorcerers with Sanctic are very cool, by the way.
