Hi guys, a space marine player friend of mine just purchased a Stormraven gunship and I was wondering what was the best model to counter act it. But only in the Khorne deamonkin.
Thanks, all thoughts welcome and needed

Look into IA13 Renegades and Heretics allies to get anti air platforms.

Ignore it. It's firepower/pt is actually pretty bad and it starts in reserves.

Heldrake ideally.

Soul Grinder with Harvester Cannon.

Possibly both.

Yeah ignoring 2 strength 8 missiles a Twin linked assault canon/Plasma canon/laser canon and a typhoon missile launcher or multi melta and 6 or 12 twin linked boltgun Shots Are something to sneeze at...

Best counter is a heldrake i guess

Yea... except for the first turn where it can fire its 4 missiles it is really negligible firepower. Even more so when you realize the only way its going to get good shots at you is if you let it or if it enters hover mode (in which case it is no longer a flier and much easier to deal with).

You know it has transport capacity right?

You don't have to be happy when you lose, just don't make winning the condition of your happiness.

Yes, but they pay a lot for that and it starts in reserves. They more ravens they have, the easier it is to table them. The Stormraven is garbage.

And if they use that, then shoot it down. No biggie. Or, just let them assault you because they can't assault til turn 3 at the soonest and then you just shoot them to death the next turn.

The answer is always Fire Raptors.

Fire Raptors sir are the one and only thing making csm viable. OK, possibly Kharybdis and Fell blades but why have to look to FW to make an army viable?

Please note, for those of you who play Chaos Daemons as a faction the term "Daemon" is potentially offensive. Instead, please play codex "Chaos: Mortally Challenged". Thank you.

FW is always overpowered. Adding FW to your CSM, while your opponent sticks to normal Stormravens, will obviously lead to predictable results ... but once your opponent starts upgrading to FW too, you're back to where you started.

Don't fall for the FW-trap.

Wow, that's an old-fashioned and foolish opinion.

Forge World is not overpowered compared to SM, Necrons or Eldar.

Because FW write good rules... unlike Games Workshop.

My point precisely! Kudos Sir!

Codex CSM is old, new codexes have good rules.

Not raelly, Draco. C:AS is one of the more powerful codices within its bracket, and it's about the same age as CSM.
