Why would they? Loadsa great fights between wherever da Boyz are and Terra. Spikey Chaos Ladz, Squishy Tau Gitz, Dem Eldar Weirdboyz, and of course even Oomiez!

Like it's been said, they've got good fights all around, and plenty of other places that gave the orks a bloody nose they need to repay. And any orks that got close to Terra were probably instantly annihilated, so most orks probably don't know/care where all da humiez showed up.

They don't know of it's existance is my guess. Nor do they particularly care about such thoughts like tracing humanity back to their place of origin. If they learned that there was a great fight to be had there then you can bet once the ball starts rolling it won't stop. But until then they are just happy wherever there is a good fight to be had. The Imperium is smart enough to know this and will provide the Orks with a good fight away from Terra if the Orks ever appear to be approaching. We are just as alien to them as they are to us, They couldn't fathom the idea that humans take orders from warbosses on a planet in a system far far away and don't take part in the fight.

Orks don't have a homeworld, and probably lack the concept of one.

In fact, the Tyranids, Chaos, Necrons and Eldar don't have one either, and the Dark Eldar's 'homeworld' is inaccessible to outsiders, and beyond Orkish comprehension. In fact, the Humans are the only major race with a centralised governing structure. Sure, the Tau have too, but they're pretty small fry in comparison.

They likely don't know anything about Terra - including its location or importance. And even if they did, they like fighting on the ground, not ship-based combat. Getting wiped out light years away by doomsday weapons on approach is not their idea of fun.

I'm with Hierophant. Orks are not the kind to go about with spies, scouting, and intelligence gathering. I don't think they have any idea that humans have a homeworld. Just once in a while the find some humans to fight.

Orks don't care about taking out enemy major command structures (unless dey be a sneeky Kommando) and as such they don't feel the need to make a long journey to strike at Terra when there's plenty of fighting around.

Chaos is attacking Terra because they hate the Imperium and the Tyranids are drawn by the Astronomicon. As far as I know the Crons, Eldar aren't interested either and the Tau are too far away with too weak interplantery capability to even make it in a worthwhile expenditure of time/resources. So the Orks are in the majority with not being interested in making a run at Terra: perhaps a Warboss might hear of the all the fighting and flashy stuff on Terra & Mars to make a run at it but they would be a rarity among their kind

They don't know it's there.

Also 90% of Ork warbands can barely direct where they go. They just go into the Warp until they find a world with a good fight.

They don't go for it because they probably don't know it exists, and even if they did they would probably avoid ot since the imperium has so many orbital defenses in place

Two answers
1) discounting random space hulk jumps (the likes of which bring orks even to Comorragh and most likely brought them to terra countless times to be routinely dispatched), the reason for orks coming there could only be destroying and breaking the Imperium of Man in one blow. That requires Waagh of size and ambition even Ghazgkull is not displaying
2) but there was one, under The Beast. It seems now books on the subject are in the works and it deals exactly with Waagh aimed at Terra

I think the real question should be -

Why haven't the genestealers gone for Terra?
(If they're not there already)

In the Tyranid Codex you have apparently 'dozens' of undetected genestealer infestations for every one that gets found out. They sneak aboard ships and get off at the next planet.
Considering how many ships take passengers to Terra for both official reasons and pilgrimages to Terra (which we've seen and heard a lot about in the fluff and art). How have the Genestealers not got there?

No chance - any sniff of infestation would be wiped out beyond measure by any number of Terran defenders - Custodes, InQ, Mech allies, Marines, religious fervour et al.

And how does a Stealer gestate get past the screening procees to ~Terra?

Wasn't the beast the guy that the Emperor let almost kill him in order to test horus's faith? It was either that guy, or the other Warboss whose name I don't know. He was big af, with enough mechanical augmetics to make the Fabricator General drool. But, as soon as Horus "saved" the Emperor, he cubstopped the entire Ork WAAAAGH!!! in two seconds flat, but still. Am I wrong?

Not to mention they'd be insane to even try and enter the Sol system considering its insurmountable defences, unless it was an enormous Chaos or Necron fleet nothing could hope to land on Terra, the defences there are too strong the Orks would be annihilated.

This. Whatever Ork Roks did reach the general vicinity of the Sol system probably got obliterate in ten seconds flat, and where's the fun in reading about that? "This 100-KM-wide Space Hulk appeared a few million Klicks out of Terra, Ork lifesigns were detected, and the Imperial Navy and a few Arks Mechanicus turned it into dust after a day of organizing the fleet." Doesn't sound like a good novel to me. Unless the focus is on the logistical side of things, and the defenses of the Sol system (in which case, that would be a glorious novel)

What makes you think they haven't tried?

Terra is the most heavily defended place in the Galaxy. It has more ships and space stations defending that one system than are defending most sectors. And thats just Terra itself. Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn also have insane forces defending them.

Any frontal attack on Terra would be swatted away like a fly.

"Realistically" the Orks have been around, what, 60 million years or so, so they should have been on Terra long ago barring outside interference.

Well, considering the fact that lotsa alien empires with tech equal to or greater than DAoT tech have risen and fallen since then, Orks have had really good fights to distract them from that one solar system with one habitable planet that has nothing on it but a bunch of dinosaurs (ors would rape he dinosaurs then move on, not really much of a fight here, unless the Orks start messing with the sea monsters

On a side note, I really wish that sea monsters were still around today. That way I could justify my insane fear of deep water.

They would have infested Terra with spores.

I have good news. A species of 2 meter long highly aggressive man eating squid has been steadily spreading across the worlds oceans as they fill the ecological niche that was left behind after we killed most of the tuna.

Why would they go for Terra? Orks does not count Humanity as its nemesis. Besides, they can't unite a large enough force to be able to pull it off.

An open mind is like a fortress with its gates unbarred and unguarded.
