See the star he is standing on? It is poorly designed and won't stand straight on the base. Lots of filing needed.

His pose is incredibly static, basically standing straight, despite zooming through the air.

His claws are WAY too large. It looks much worse in person. It's like a pair of claws with a little guy attached.

He is failcast which exaggerates the sheer precariousness and extreme fragility of the model.

The model is also just generally goofy overall.

I have that model but in metal, aside from laughably useless wargear options the weight is almost entirely above the waist, meaning the very dodgy single contact point (the star he's dangling beneath him) constantly breaks.

The Penitent Engine is cool though. They're not just sat in a baby carriage, they're hooked up with wires and tubes.

Does anyone else also remember these? The chassis reminds me of a robin reliant.... mind you, it is the product of it's time

The fat Cadian officer is one of my favorite IG sculpts! He's got so much character, his pose is perfect, and the detail is solid. I love that mini. The old Sentinel looks fine, but building that out of metal is a nightmare.

I’ll agree on Marches and Rites, Relics is not bad (although looks more like a vet dev sarge), but the Executioner is quite nice.

Master of Relics is the model I'm going to be converting my Raptors Chapter Master off of.

Executioner is my alternate choice.

new around here, but seen the Darkshroud mentioned a few times, as well as elsewhere in negative tones.

I'm going to stick my head above the parapet and say I actually like it - I have one. I don't currently game so I bought it solely off the back off the model, and think both the Darkshroud and the vengeance actually look really good. I think as models they are actually pretty cool, especially the Darkshroud which I think fits the DA background quite well, and it's a dramatic model that looks good painted up

I will say a few things though that maybe aren't so positive, it was stupidly expensive now I think about it (I bought it on a bit of an impulse, and didn't eat for a week afterwards..... neither did the future wife.....), the kit in terms of instructions & fit etc is far from good, and it is MASSIVE completed. But looking solely from an "is it cool" point of view, I think it is.... sorry :-)

The Taurox is hideous and probably takes the title for me.

I first started gaming with Epic and having an Ork army, I always hated these. They just never looked "Orky" enough and I think they were only ever created to even the balance with the Imperial Knights in the Titan Legions boxed set. They just look so rushed and dull:

I like them. But they'd look better in a bigger scale where you can see that it's made out of scrap.

Yeah I think that's a very fair point. I just feel that on that scale they are a quite dull and don't reflect the Ork fluff anywhere near enough. Other minis in the Epic range did manage to, though.

I love the new Battlewagons (they were the main reason for me to pick Orks again when I restarted 40k a few years back), but I liked the epic BWs/Gunwagons as well. Individually they were perhaps a bit dull and un-orky with these straightforward tank looks, but the kit allowed for some customization, and when deployed in large enough numbers they made for a really impressive sight.

If we're going for ugly...

I know by definition these are supposed to be hideous, but it looks like a sculptor upped and quit and left their 6 year old nephew in charge of coating a basic mannequin with superglue and rolling it around in a box of shrapnel.

The whole thing is a mishmash of random symbols and bits of metal on a hideous body that isn't even sculpted nicely.

I am surprised that one certain model has not been mentioned at all, which I take as evidence that it is so horrid that collective consciousness has censored it from our memories. Despite that, I dare to remind everyone of its existence:

Everything is wrong in that model. Everything. Overall plan is based on a land vehicle, individual visual features look horrible, tail and the wings give it a very unaggressive overall feel, pop-up missiles make it feel toylike. And to crown it all, it has those stupid struts which do...nothing, and look like they were added to it as an afterthought, probably because they were added to it as an afterthought after sculptor realized that it looked too much like a prop plane era aircraft.
