I know prequels sucked...but when Jango shot Mace Windu with a flamethrower, it torched his robes. Made had to SD&R and get the robes off. I'd say there is some precedence for Jedi < Fire.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Vader likely had the Empire's best tech and medical droids on the case, Luke just got stiched up on a medical frigate, probably with 2nd hand (heh) bionics...

That was a medic droid, so maybe just a warttime or civilian medic. (Because most of the rebel alliance stuff was formerly owned by civilians)

If I remember Correctly. Been a while since I read starwars lore.

Vader had super gloves too then?

As for the fire aspect, I think they made Daddy fetts flame thrower a propane gas one (like the ones you can make spray cans) so it was flashy but not effective. Windu also had little hair to singe.

But I assume a real flame thrower would use burning liquid so that it actually sticks onto and burns targets, which should be easy to push away since it's no different from water (except burning...).

That's how I would view it anyway...

Considering many of the core members of the Rebel Alliances were filthy rich royalty from their respective homeworlds I have a hard time believing that he didn't get the 'best' replacement available.

Also random thought speaking of the wealthiness of the Rebellion.

Does anyone else find it weird that the Rebels actually paid Han Solo the small fortune he demanded for rescuing Leia?

Its always bugged me, if the rebels were barely scraping by for resources why not take the princess and just tell him to bug off or straight up kill him and requisition his ship.

Then again maybe I'm just a terrible person.

Leia probably paid him. Daughter of wealthy senators... they also died recently so she probably got her inheritance too.

Did anyone ever actually tell him he would be paid anything? The only money agreed on was the fee for getting them to Alderan. Didn't Luke just go "dude, she's a princess, surely there is something in it for you".

Leia said something like, "if money is all you care about then that is what you shall receive" after she was rescued.

Yea he packed a ton of crates of money (I assume money) and was on his way to pay of his debt. That's what it looks like he is doing when Luke walks past before the attack. They also talk about taking his reward then running etc from memory.

So Leia was just sitting on this hueg stash, enough to pay off Han's debt and not bother her, and she witheld it from the Alliance?

Bitch...

Which leads me to think Obi-Wan suicided to avoid paying Han because he didn't really have the money.

Lets be fair, she probably got that money the moment her parents perished a few days earlier. So it's likely she purchased rebel stocks and paid off her debts ASAP.

I like the Obi Wan theory too.

Its Space Leather too, from space cows. So it is very effective.

Force Sensitive space cows, so it also amplifies his force abilities.... Hence why he has a force choke, and not force "pulse check"

The space cows have been growing in a low G environment (Space Farm) which makes them extra fatty and juicy. The most premium space cow meat on the market.

Probably was the true purpose behind the death star to be honest. At least a 5th of that must have been the space farm to justify the costs of that huge machine.

Premium Beef is enough to make anyone rich, especially fatty space cows.

I wonder if Phasma is going to survive this movie.

There's usually at least one "primary antagonist" who bites it per film who's introduced early in the film and then dies by the end. Tarkin and Maul are both prime examples. Out of all the villains introduced thus far, Phasma seems like the only one who's important enough to be actively marketed, yet seemingly minor enough to not need a character arc.

Pure conjecture of course, but it's something that's been on my mind on and off today.

I really hope this is true. It will make me enjoy this movie more than I hope I will.

feth, the whole Nazi imagery was unique, maybe in 1979, but now its just getting so cliched, this is 2015, its been done to death and better in the early 2000s alone

By now it's not "nazi imagery", it's Star Wars imagery. I don't think you could seriously push the idea that you could make a Star Wars movie without a horde of white-armoured mooks.

Still, it works. No matter what the film, put a load of people in uniform, line them up in a big open area and hang banners in red, white and black, and it's a good shorthand to get the audience to think "they're probably wrong 'uns".

As for that one with a flamer, is it definitely a flamethrower? It could also be some sort of heavy or repeating blaster rifle.

Yea.

If I started a 40k force again I am so doing an inquisitor warband modeled after these guys.

It LOOKS like they have an assortment of staffs and so on which could be cool to see.

Must say I am looking forward to seeing where they go with the Knights. They don't seem from what we've seen/heard so far, to be actual Sith, maybe not even all force-sensitive. Kylo seems to be the only one with a lightsaber, at any rate.

I had imagined them like The Inquisitors used by the Empire in Rebels, minor force users that are used for those jobs that were too small, far away or insignificant to break out Vader for, but now I'm wondering if they're more of a cult that's formed around something (perhaps Vader himself?) and of them, only Kylo Ren is a force user. It also explains the homemade lightsaber; if these guys are essentially Vader fanboys, then it stands to reason that Kylo has put this blade together himself rather than being given it to fulfil his role as an enforcer for the First Order

But apparently, the Big Boss of the First Order is also a powerful force user according to an interview article in Empire a few months back, so maybe they are more formal group than that. Kylo Ren does seem to have a Star Destroyer after all...

You know what, I think I'll just wait for the film!

I would be okay with them simply being elite non force-sensitive members of a cult.

On the other hand, I think it'd be really interesting to see trained force users who just didn't have lightsabers for whatever reason (lack of available knowledge or technology, etc). Force users who rely on weapons and tactics other than lightsabers would be a unique dynamic.

iirc, the guys who did the fight choreography for The Raid are also doing it for this film. How cool would it be then to see force-users use hand-to-hand?

They have some kind of melee weapons that aren't lightsabers, so I'd say there's a good chance of it.

If you can push people over etc then you can surely push burning liquid away as well. Flame throwers are probably pretty dangerous around Jedi really. I would not stand near the Flame Troopers at all.
