Okay, as much as I bag on it, Star Trek Into Darkness wasn't as soul crushingly awful as The Phantom Menace.

Lucas just isn't used to being told anything other than "Absolutely! You're a genious- we'll get right on that"

He's angry about what may be getting done with a franchise he was happy continually re-mastering for decades.

Come on guys. Lucas is a terrible judge of quality. That should be obvious.

At the very least, his dissatisfaction means that the new films won't be like the prequels. At least if they're bad they'll be bad for entirely different reasons. We'll have so many new "so how bad was the new Star Wars movie?" jokes and memes to share

Max von Sydow will play Lor San Tekka, who, along with Oscar Isaac’s Poe Dameron, will put a message inside of BB-8 before sending the droid “off into the night.”
The pilot Maz Kanata is apparently an “old mentor” of Han Solo. Han seeks Maz’s help to return BB-8 and the message inside her to the Resistance.
Rey and BB-8 get captured during a battle between Leia’s X-wing Squadrons and Captain Phasma’s troops on the planet of Takodana.
The Resistance is stationed on a planet called D’Qar
Han, Finn, and Chewie are forced to crash the Millennium Falcon into the Starkiller Base.

What does everyone think of the new theory that Jar Jar Binks is actually a sith lord and was supposed to be the sith version of yoda? Some people think that he will be Klyo Ren's boss.

@Bloodhawk
I would be less surprised to see ghost Obi-Wan battle ghost Vader for the soul of Luke, in a shot for shot remake of the A New Hope scene, set to dance music featuring Lindsey Sterling and Skrillex. It would, of course, be broken up by the newly revealed character Hamm Solo.

This has been firmly pointed away from kids, unlike the prequels. Even from the trailers, Jar Jar wouldn't fit tonally- not to mention no one left alive has any connection to him.

Actually, in Ep. 4-6, Lucas was guided and told what could work and what couldn't. On the other hand, Ep. 1-3, Lucas was given free reign to do as he pleased because he was a genius...We need only look at how those trilogies compare to know, Lucas should be kept on a short leash.

I read the article as well and what I gathered from it was Disney declined his suggestions and wanted to try their own thing. Lucas, decided to let it go, which is very admirable for him. He very well could have thrown a fit, denounced Ep. 7, but no. Lucas has said he is eager to see the movie when it comes out because he has never seen a Star Wars movie for the first time.

This wasn't the exact article, but it still conveys the feeling that he doesn't want to know anything about it until he sees it in theaters.

The first trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens has been watched more than 72 million times and could be on its way to being the most viewed trailer in history, but one of those views didn't come from the creator of the franchise, George Lucas. While chatting to The NY Post at Bloomberg Businessweek’s 85th anniversary party, Lucas said he was flat out "not really interested" in watching it, though he did say he would go see the full movie when it's released next year. “I don’t know anything about it," he continued. "I haven’t seen it yet because it’s not in the movie theater. I like going to the movies and watching the whole thing there ” It's strange that the Creative Consultant on the film and the man who was said to be in "constant contact" with Abrams about the direction The Force Awakens was taking has no interest in even watching the first trailer, but maybe since selling Lucasfilm for $3 billion he just doesn't give a gak any more. Many would argue that he hasn't given a gak about anything but merchandise sales since A New Hope, but we'll table that discussion for a different time! What are your thoughts on this? Full story at the link below.

So, new TV spot released. This one seems to highlight Kylo Ren, and shows us something more...The super weapon is possible use!

It happens quick, within the first 10 seconds of the spot.

In the opening of the spot there is also a streak of red racing across Kylo Ren's view from his ship/base. This same red streak could be from the super weapon as well racing across space to it's target.

We also get a little more of a glimpse into the scene with Kylo using the force on Poe. It looks like Kylo was psyching Poe out and smacks his forehead with his outstretched hand.

Nah. Son, possibly.
He was training his son in the way of the force when he explained who his grandfather was, and had become. Of course, the son rebels and idolizes the grandfather and starts the cult dedicated to all things Sith and Vader.

It's the only logical choice.

- Cloning canisters in stranded star destroyers.
- Luke's light saber means his hand was found as well.
- Daddy issues when he stares at his mask.
- Force user.

And everybody knows that Luke Clone is an old EU favorite.

His son or nephew is much more logical, given the emphasis on "generations" that the teasers have had.

I don't think there were any cloning canisters in the Star Destroyer. The structure Rey is climbing on doesn't look anything like the cloning facility from Attack of the Clones.
- Luke's light saber means his hand was found as well.
Not necessarily... he lost it 30 years ago. Also, I don't know if it has been confirmed to be Luke/Anakin's lightsaber that Finn has.
- Daddy issues when he stares at his mask.
Nah.
- Force user.
There are lots of Force-users, the Skywalker family is not unique in that regard.
And everybody knows that Luke Clone is an old EU favorite.
There are a lot of stupid things about the EU and the over-usage of clones is near the top of that list.

Yeah, it was cool when Zahn did it. It was all downhill after that (and that includes Attack of the Clones).

Fat, old, and falling apart, somewhere. Sadly.
