Still have not decided on a theme for age of sigmar (still buying random models, fun) but I have a question on spirit hosts (could be a theme, depending on the answers) the spirit hosts (box that is) more or less comes with 9 spirit hosts separated into 3 groups of 3s (I guess, looking at the models) would it be ok for conversion purposes to separate each of the spirit hosts and put them on their own and count them as one? that way a single £16 box could make you 3 playable units of 3s by having a single spirit host represent itself as the whole

Well, the name somewhat implies multiple spirits as it, well, is a host of them, but I guess there's nothing that would bar you from doing that as long as you use appropriate base for them (with some fillers it can look cool). Just make sure to distinguish them from banshees and wraiths as they are two other single-model ghost units.

I think seperating them is totally okay. Sure, the name implies there's more than one spirit on there, but if you want better value from your boxes, why not?
I'd definitely add a ton of stuff to the bases to make up for the lack of ghosts on there, but that's about it.

I kinda did that with Nagash's model
I cannot blend so i cut off the ghosts and 'spirit trails' from his cloak
I then seperated them into 3 seperate ones and put them on bases

I think it'll look bad. The Spirit hosts balance on each other in an elaborate way. The ones on the top will be at odd angles if glued to the base and the models are too thin and whispy to fill up a 50mm circle base on their own.
I say you stop being such a cheapskate :-p

Bye bye Dakkadakka, happy hobbying! I really enjoyed my time on here. Opinions were always my own :-) |

HA... I am not using bases, but I already got 2 boxes, will use them normally as they look better as that, but 3 of them are going to be used on my spirit themed steam tank... with some green stuff though (and spare spears) you could make nifty cairn wraiths...

So, like seperate the induvidual ghosties from each other? May require some knife work but hey, it could be cool. Post some pics!

no need for knife work they more or less already come seprated, I decided to keep them together as I do not have enough things yet for base work (or green stuff, still learning painting) so I kept them together but I will use 3 to convert a steam tank (think possessed steam tank)
here is a pic of them done... (not the steam tank)

aww, thanks bro... I might do similar things with the steam tank or leave out the orange shade, in all honesty I am basically practicing painting(I only have about 10 paint tubs :/ need more, god and leadbelcher are not my fav weapon colour but they will do for now), these were my third completely done models I love every min of it, even if its not the best, and for all their "flaws" GW really do make some good paints...
I am hoping to do my "possessed" engineer on mecha horse by next week, he holds a cursed undead banner (spirit host possessing the banner :O ) but I have a couple of more themed ideas I want to work with (not undead related)
