Pics incoming, was going for a purple and gold theme. Base armor is the Citadel warplock bronze. Is this idea dumb? Do the colors clash?

I can see you're new here, it's normally best to wait until you have the pics first before you're berated with a glut of, 'Cool story bro' type posts.
Try and flesh out your initial post a little to potentially start a bit more of a dialogue and you'll generally get a far better response.

Purple gold and bronze sounds fine to me.
Works for the Emperor's Children.
I've no idea what model you are working on so maybe a link or picture of that would help.

Cheers and welcome to dakka, hope this helps.

Depends a lot on what you are painting.
Space Marines? Sure, they might look darn hot in purple and gold.
Imperial Guard? I don't think they could not pull off the look though.

Purple and yellow are complementary colours, bronze and gold are fine to add as well.

The fact that it works for your college should give you a hint that it works

I know purple and gold look good together...but them plus the bronze metallic armour? Take a gander and give me your two cents comrade.

Aye, pics were uploading slowly then I fell asleep LOL. My bad.

Unit I'm testing the scheme on is a regular SM tactical squad. No back story or anything, I just paint and collect the models for their own sake.
