I've always loved the idea of IG combat engineers. Something about the whole "build our up and break theirs down" really appealed to me. After I came into 20 Elysian Drop Troops, i decided to finally start the army. Yes, these will be Drop Troops used as normal IG/AM, but I don't really like the Drop Troop list. So, they are normal IG, but with better (and more expensive) models. Without further ado, let's begin
The army plan is simple, to begin with. My starting list is two squads of vets with demolitions, a command squad with MOO, medic, banner, vox, and grenades, some Sentinel Powerlifters, and some cyclops demo vehicles. Eventually, I want some stationary artillery, lots of Fortifications, and maybe an assault carrier. So far, I have one model painted, 19 primed, and 20 assembled without paint.

Here is one veteran with a demo charge.
Thanks for any C&C!

I like what you've done so far. FW's Elysians are certainly a step up from the usual Guard kits. What are your plans for basing? I would go for some lighter colors to provide some contrast, unless you're set on camouflaging these troops. Could we get some more photos with a solid background? It's hard to provide much critique with just this picture alone.

What's left of Cadia

This looks interesting. I'll be keeping an eye on this

TheEyeOfNight- I swear, this thread is 70% smack talk, 20% RP organization, and 10% butt jokes
TheEyeOfNight- "Ordo Xenos reports that the Necrons have attained democracy, kamikaze tendencies, and nuclear fission. It's all tits up, sir."
Space Marine flyers are shaped for the greatest possible air resistance so that the air may never defeat the SPACE MARINES!
Sternguard though, those guys are all about kicking ass. They'd chew bubble gum as well, but bubble gum is heretical. Only tau chew gum

Thanks for the input. I really am not sure how to base them. One idea is to do a light earth base, and add stuff like boards, pipes, and sandbags to really get the Engineer feeling. One of my biggest inspirations for these guys are the Seabees of WW2.
Soon, I'll have a few more done and take better pictures.

So, Necro alert (It's my blog and on topic, so yeah)
I currently have my 500 point list built, and am stuck on the paintjob for my first chimera.
Do I use the Blue as the primary or the Grey? I honestly can't decide.
Any help from y'all?
