With the emergence of vehicle squadrons I have a burning question.

Can independent characters join vehicle squadrons? Such as a Predator Squadron?

No. Refer to the first part of the Independent Character rules.

So I'd say yes, or Sammel in a speeder could not join a speeder squdron.

Please reread the Independent Character rules, specifically the paragraph immediately preceding 'Joining and Leaving a Unit' where Independent Characters are expressly forbidden from joining units that contain vehicles or Monstrous Creatures.

Besides, Sableclaw has its own distinct datasheet which does not have the Independent Character special rule. Sableclaw can not join a speeder squadron.

Sammel in a Speeder doesn't even have the Independent Character rule
