I'd take a look at P3 Trollblood base, or the Vallejo Model Color French Mirage Blue or Grey Blue.

Thanks for that. Not got any P3 paints. May have to take a gander

I recommend the P3 white. It's so much better than the GW Ceramite White, in my experience, and I'm even a big fan of GW's paints. But P3 are definitely worth trying if they have a color you need. Nice paint pots too.

Is that right? Interesting. Ceramite White is one of only a few GW paints I use and it frustrates me how much work has to go into keeping it usable. The P3 paints I have, I really like (even if they're not quite as matte as I'd prefer); I know what I'll be adding to my basket next time I order something form Element Games!

I've had more than a few paints that need constant shaking/mixing from the 2012 citadel range. Ceramite white is a reliably consistent repeat offender for me (not just from one batch either - three pots bought at least a year apart each). Funny thing is ceramite white is still impressive enough to keep using it even with that drawback

Just threw away my second pot of Ceramite White an hour or so ago... it's the ONLY new Citadel paint I've had to throw out in two years.

Just to be safe, I might have to pick up one or two of the flesh trio anyway. Bit scared to pick up two seeing how GW's paint dries out so badly, though...

I had a pot of P3 White essentially by accident, but, like others got sick of Ceramite White and it's weird lumpy nonsense (an issue I've also had with a couple of metallics, including one pot that was like it when opened - but it had sat idle for a bit - BTW) so gave it a go.

My main painting project is Emperor's Kids ATM, so I'm often trying to get smooth white over a dark purple, and when I can't airbrush an area I find that the P3 probably takes half the number of coats the Citadel stuff did to get a smooth coat over the grey base with brush.

Vallejo Game Colour Sick Green.

While some might not want to branch into other paint ranges, there's little point sitting back hoping GW will replace it with a similar paint. This bike was done in Sick Green, and turned out the same colour as I used to do my Salamanders so many years ago.

There was a rumor of 51 new airbrush paints. Maybe this is to make room for them on the Citadel paint displays?

Less frustration too, since no one else changes their range every couple years like GW does. You can be reasonably sure that Vallejo will still be selling that one paint you need for your army years from now, whereas with GW they could discontinue it or replace it with a new color that doesn't match the old at all, with no warning.

So if they're discontinuing these paints then anyone who uses these colors might want to stock up on paints.

If they're just renaming them then anyone who uses beastmen or Slaanesh might want to stock up on models.

I have reaper master series paint pots from when it first came out in the dropper bottles 7+ years ago, and they work fine.

I have a bottle of ____ red that I bought last year, used maybe 30% of, and I found it was dried out this past weekend when I was looking for a deeper red to use.

I prefer Reaper Master paints by far. Drop out only what I need and they don't dry out nearly as fast.

Some do, mind you. But getting 7+ years out of a bottle is more than fair.

I'm surprised GW are coming out with airbrush paints as it's something that makes them admit there is a hobby outside of what they themselves produce.... maybe they're bringing out an airbrush to go with them?

The new paints they've released for Age of Sigmar are Retributor Armour (Base) and Liberator Gold (Layer). I don't see them needing to release another gold paint for Age of Sigmar.

Luckily there is only one of the paints listed that I use as part of one of my current paint schemes and I have an alternative already in mind. That said, its this kind of instability in GW's paint line that reinforces why my ongoing conversion to Vallejo seems to have been a smart move.

I bet they are going to try to hawk a "new" siphon flamethrower that attaches to those pots. using Fine canned air. at 40 bucks a can.

Cynicism aside. im interested in the metallic as most AB metallic i know are FANTASTIC.

Assuming that they'll work with the old fashioned hairy sticks for painting, I'll get a few for highlighting just so I don't have to thin them (assuming a reasonable price).
