If I buy a dedicated transport for an IC, can I start the transport on the field and the IC in reserve?
(It was a decoy!  )

It won't be a very good decoy as you will have to declare if your HQ is joining any of your units in reserve, but I think you could. Also which HQ can buy a dedicated transport it's normally just units that can?

The decoy was meant more as a fluff reason than an actual tactic.
The HQ in question is a DE Archon - who can buy a venom.
To elaborate, I want to buy a venom, then attach the Archon to a unit of Trueborn in a Raider - using his WWP to deep strike them into position.

As Nos said, but do remember the Venom is a DT. No other unit than the Archon may start the game embarked on it.
