Hello
I was recently reading a post about someones house rules. most people said they were terrible and blah blah blah. i realised that maybe the house rules that my club put in place are kindof stupid. we are completly casual and stuff and the only eldar player isnt a jerk. please tell me if you would be offended or disgusted with the rules my club has in place.
no homebrews.
No exessive proxying
no super heavys in less than 750 point games.
now for the armie specifics.
Deamons
fateweaver LOW
Tau
cadre fireblades get 1 piece of equipment from the support systems list
Dark eldar
helions can use jump pack in assault and movement
Orks
cybork bodys gives +1 to feel no pain or a 6+ if there isnt one
Please tell me if these are oppresivve. i dont want to be a jerk.

The first is totally legit, especially for newer players. The other two are really just making sure people aren't being unfair about their models. As for all the army specific ones, I have all of those same rules in my houserules section! You could have simply added these to the thread you were talking about though, nobody is there to be mean-spirited, it's just some of the op's rules were a bit off base/ contradictory

The general ones are fine, exactly the kind you'd expect. The army specific ones are just...weird though. With so many things being out of balance with the game, the fact you only fix 4 things is both lacking and biased.
Or example, Hellions being able to jump and HOW doesn't exactly make them great, but it makes them usable. Wyches however are left in the dust. I'd suggest dropping the army specific house rules unless you want the massive undertaking of fixing everything wrong with 40K in your eyes, otherwise it just looks like a half-cocked measure that will be easy to forget in pick up games.

Like these ones?
To the op, you are assuredly not a jerk. Adding abilities to units you feel are weaker is fine, dropping abilities and increasing point totals are only fine by me if the person suggesting the increase is the person playing that army. (I play eldar, for example)

the reason i didnt fix some of the other things is because i dont know whats wrong with them. also alot of the army specific thingys were things players came in with and we voted on to include. so if someone brings in some homebrew tweaks to the wyches and its not cheezy well most likely vote it in.
also as for wyches. would giving them back haywire nades help?

Would it make them see play? Yes.
Is it fluffy that a unit of blood-lusty gladiators will spend no time killing infantry but instead hang around shoving grenades down hatches? (rhetorical question)
It's a fix, but I my opinion it's not the fix they need.

My rules for wyches include an extra wound for characters (universal, that one is) they get their "agile" invuln save the entire assault phase, and all of the units with combat drugs count the turn as one higher for power from pain. They are all bloodthirsty maniacs who spend the time before the battle fighting and getting hopped up on adrenaline and hard core stimulants. Then they walk out onto the field just as composed and calm as the kabalite warriors next to them.
Doesn't make sense to me...

IMO, I saw someone talk about giving wyches armourbane.
just a thought
(fluff justification) wyches crawl around tanks, planting plasma grenades on tracks, ripping crewmen out of their hatches, disabling weapons.
Stunned and shaken - they crew has to spend a few extra time sealing all hatches and prepping their weapons.
weapon destroyed - they wyches disabled a weapon, idk, stuck a plasma to it or something.
immobilized - they wyches disabled the tracks by either destroying them or destroying the controls to them
explodes! - they wyches did something that damaged the vehicle in a way that caused a catastrophic explosion.
its a cool though.
oh, and give them furious charge base.

I proposed that ^
Like the idea of furious charge, maybe as their own power from pain table where that is the benefit turn 2...

I don't have much experience with LOW yet, but I don't really understand the point of this. I saw it mentioned in the other thread as Fateweaver is LOW, Abbaddon is LOW, etc. What does that imply, really?

The lord of war title is given to certain units to show their personal importance in the fluff of the game. It means that abbadon and fateweaver are entitled to a more impressive place in the detachments than other " hq" type units. If you're running a combined arms detachment they will be in the lord of war slot, meaning you will need an hq option, and won't be able to take a superheavy or gargantuan creature in said detachment.
