Hello
So I recently won 25 more chaos space marines on ebay for £9 and now I have 70.

As I like swarm tactics even for Chaos Space Marines I would like to know how to run 70 Chaos Space Marines in a 2000+ point game

Thanks

10000

Cypher, Huron, Ahriman, or other special characters that allow you to infiltrate multiple units would probably be a good start for running a Power Armored "horde". If you wanna get crazy run one unit of 20 with MoS and and Icon for FNP, possibly as a distraction carnifex alongside some special weapon toting Chosen.

Using a supplement or formation to take chosen as troops might help. Defiantly not as your main troops but they make pretty good weapons teams alongside Havoks.

Ive wanted to do this for awhile, looking forward to the comments

I have all IC's except Lucius so infiltrate is avaliable yes. I5 Feel no Pain is a nice extra when running a unit with Plasma and MoS. I also have Abaddon so making Chosen troops is avaliable

What supplement or formation would you advise?

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Point wise it's 910 points pre upgrade so I could be running a 1100 plus troop list which in a 2000+ game I'm okay with.

Buy 7 rhinos. Play them as 7x10 slaanesh with banner of excess. Completely standard, no special weapons, no hidden powfists no nothing. Maybe add votlw to pump ld. Add 3 times the hellcult formation and maximize your cultist units. Kill your opponent with boredom. Profit.

Running a mech army isn't a boring game my 1500 point Nurgle List is borderline pure mech once my 3rd predator arrives it will be pure mech

If you run Black Legion Chosen can be taken as troops, but honestly, if you aren't running any elites anyway, you should be fine.
Well you got Draznicht's Ravagers from crimson slaughter which aren't troops but will give plasma chosen preferred enemy, so you can tell gets hot to get lost. Add Cypher and you can infiltrate them with shrouded.
Lastly you could use the Fallen Champions dataslate, but aside from Cypher giving his leadership and ATSKNF to the three chosen squads, it isn't all that useful. That being said, if you used up all your slots and didn't want to use a separate CAD, its not a bad way to get Cypher and some extra chosen on the board.

Use them as Plague Marines as they're more efficient in terms of survival and getting Special Weapons.

Fabius, and Kharn. Meat shields and Kharn!

Now just take them in squads of 5 and each within a rhino. So you need 14 rhinos lol

get a cheap hq choice, i would do a librarian on a bike then take 6x5 squads of space marines with meltas, then take a second combined arms detachement then add the same hq with 6x5 marines with melta, you dont need anit air cause thats 30 meltas shooting in the air, YOU WILL LOSE MOEDELS but your opponent has to focus fire every squad, take heldrake if you have points

In the shooting phase, you can forgo your shooting and instead declare a unit will run. Roll a d6, the result is how many inches your unit can move in that shooting phase.
Do note that you won't be able to assault afterwards.

Another idea is to use Fabius to run a bunch of enhanced marines, or take a Slaanesh lord on steed to outflank another unit. Twenty man squads in that case.

And actually, noise marines at 17 points a pop with I5 and fearless isn't the worst idea ever. Take min 5 man squad with the champion taking a doom siren, mount them in a rhino, and just drive around being fearless and annoying all game.
