I saw this game, Revival. https://www.revivalgame.com/?navbar=0 An RP-based MMO. That's right. An RP-based MMO. Where you can buy houses in the game world that are not instanced. As a fervent roleplayer, I am extremely interested in this game.

Aside from it sounding like they're way too ambitious, looks nice. Though being a powerful hero is kinda against the whole Lovecraft thing.
I like the thought that they'll have early days of play where the player do stuff with their houses and crafting. Then on a particular day the gak hits the fan, eldritch horrors are let loose and the game really begins. A bit gimmicky, but I know I'll at least watch videos or streams of when that happens.

Non-instanced housing exists in several MMOs, it's not a new thing. ArcheAge would probably be the biggest current game to feature such.... and, by God, is it nightmarish.

Yeah, Archeage is truly nightmarish. There's nowhere near enough room for everyone, even after the initial interest died off AND they nearly doubled the number of usable areas.

The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.

Does Archeage still pull that crap where they have one NPC that you have to fight for a mandatory tute quest in a public place where everyone is trying to kill him at the same time.

Depends on what race you mean, because all of the tutorial quests are different for each race.
