So I'm thinking about running an Inquisition list. It's probably going to be several squads of Psykers in a fortification (Care Bear...stare!) and maybe some warriors to man the guns. (Maybe.)

However, the Inquisitors I was going to arm with double Daemonblades and stick in a Land Raider for funzies. I'm going to send a squad of Crusaders along with them for extra butt kickin. Just Crusaders and Inquisitors, nothing else.

How would you arm the Crusaders?

EDIT: Question resolved. Apparently they've been updated to be sword and board only.

Never assume them to strike fast. Therefore the Axe is the way to go, seeing as you can get better Power Swords from the Assassins.

Not going to bring any assassins. Sorry, wasn't clear. Just Inquisitors and Crusaders in the tank.

My codex says they're armed with power swords, not power weapons. Is there an FAQ/errata I'm missing?

If so, it depends. Axes are a safe bet, since you're rocking a (potentially rerollable) 3++. Coupled with a rad grenade inquisitor, you're looking at s5, which isn't bad. I feel like they really benefit from a priest and potentially buffing from psychic powers.

Out of curiosity, why no assassins? What type of inquisitor are you running with them?

I've got the digital version, and it says power weapons. Lemme check just to make sure I'm not wrong.

EDIT: Nope, says Power Weapon.

In any event, as to why no assassins: I want to run a thematic army. I'm using a boatload of Skaven I bought as a mutant-heretic army. Really, the huge squads of Psykers are the point, but I also want to run Inquisitors with Daemonblades because I think it's fun. I just need a CC unit to ride around in the Land Raider with them, and Crusaders seem like the best fit given the models I have (clanrats). I don't have any models that look like assassins, and I'm not really wanting to dump any more money into this project than I already have.

My digital version (copyright 2014) of the codex says the crusader's default gear is a power sword and in battlescribe it list them as having power swords with no option to change their loadout.

I would add a priest to the unit to give those amazing rerollable saves or reroll to wound.

"Hold my shoota, I'm goin in"
Armies (7th edition points)
7000+ Points Death Skullz
4000 Points
+ + 3000 Points "The Fiery Heart of the Emperor"
3500 Points "Void Kraken" Space Marines
3000 Points "Bard's Booze Cruise"

Battlescribe is not an official rules source

Of course its not, just pointing out two sources (one official, one not but commonly used by the community) that show crusaders using power swords.

GW updated the digital version awhile back. Crusaders and assassins are only armed with power swords.
I don't think GW ever bothered to release a changelog or an errata, they just silently updated the ebook. Changelogs are just far too much work for GW...

Okie doke. Mine is 2013, so I guess that solves that.

I guess I could use one of the musicians as a priest.
