Waiting for my shill money from Spiral Arm Studios

Well, I finally bit the bullet and got into infinity. I downloaded the rules and I'm waiting on my USAriadna box to arrive next week.

Once I've got the set and some games under my belt what should I get after this? Seems like more grunts would be good, but it doesn't appear that they sell USA grunts yet.

The Grunts SWC box should be coming in to retail any time in the next couple of weeks.
It will have the sniper, Heavy flamer, LGL, and HMG models. Great addition to the Army box.
The Basic 6 model starter (what you get in army, minus bike, rider, and K9 team) is supposed to be out by year's end.

Honestly, I'd say another Army box. It will give you extra AVA of models you will need and use for your army.
If you can't swing that, then I'd suggest a Dozer with Control box, and the MUL remote box for fire support needs.
Either of the Foxtrot blisters that are out would work also (LGL and Sniper).
Van Zant if you don't have him yet.
Maybe a 112 or proxy for one ( I can't stand the official model).

I'm waiting for the Grunts SWC, Marauders and Minutemen, oh.. and of course the Blackjacks and 6th Airborne.

That's all if you just want to stick with USARF as a sectorial.
If you want to branch out into Vanilla any, there are TONS of other good Ariadna models out there.

FYI, the Grunts SWC box is in stock and shipping from The Warstore.

I'm going LGS for that one instead but yeah.

The Dozer with Traktor Mul Control Device and the Traktor Mul box have both been showing as "Out of Stock" for almost five weeks now. With any luck, they might be getting repackaged to be the Traktor Mul box and Dozer--never understood why those weren't packaged together to begin with(you can't take one without the other).

Foxtrot Ranger with Rifle, Light GL and Foxtrot Ranger with Sniper Rifle are both "Discontinued by Manufacturer" and "Sold Out" at The Warstore--which means that we SHOULD be seeing new ones relatively soon(I would guess they might be a November release).

The Hardcase is "Out of Stock at the Manufacturer" which is interesting.

Ok, I got a set of MULs and a Dozer Engineer.

I assume the army list that comes in the USA set has their stats in it?(and I assume all the USA stats too) The MULs aren't in the main rulebook PDF.

The only stuff that is in the USARF starter set's listing is the stuff which has models in there.

It does, however, have the AVA listings for the USARF Sectorial.

Muls are in Human Sphere's PDF or the Army Builder.

No, MUL's are a Human Sphere profile. They can be found in either the Human Sphere weapon/profile PDF on the Infinity main site, or in ARMY 5 for stats and list building.

The army list in the USARF pamphlet only has the profiles for the new models released in the army box.

The full sectorial list for USARF, and all new profiles will be in the new Human Sphere N3 book, hopefully out around year's end.

Ok, one more question.

What does Linkable mean? Its not in the main rules.

It's a Human Sphere rule.

What "Linkable"(and "Haris", which is on your Marauders as an option) means is that you can form a number of models of the same unit(so Grunts with Grunts, Marauders with Marauders, Minutemen with Minutemen) into a Fireteam.

Fireteams have benefits for working together but you can only ever have one on the battlefield at a time.
Haris is a mini-Fireteam that is excluded from that rule(because it's a Haris Link-Team, see?). Haris requires a model with Haris and up to 2 more models of that same type(so a Marauder with Haris and 2x Marauders with Molotoks or HRLs or whatever fancy things you want).

Human Sphere is slated to refine these Link Team rules far more now, so if you don't want to be bothered learning the old stuff? Just wait for HSN3.

Ok, I saw that in a battle report where 1 order could effect all the models in the link team. I assume there is a disadvantage?

It's only available to Sectorial forces, and you only get one at any time.

Also there are a number of actions which can "break" a Link Team(such as utilizing a weapon with Speculative Fire), necessitating you to then use up Command Tokens to reform the Link Teams.

Like I said though, don't worry too much about Link Teams until Human Sphere's new edition drops. Coordinated Orders(p.148) in the N3 book are more/less what you should look at for the time being.

Several.

Simply. only the leader gets to perform anything but a move or dodge action. Every model must perform the same order, just non-leader models orders are wasted if it's something they can't do.

So if the leader pops out to shoot someone, the rest of the models stand around doing nothing. If your opponent reacts by shooting a model that isn't the leader, you may choose to dodge with that model, but then all link models, including the leader, must dodge. There are also several order types, as Kan mentioned, that will break the link, like any long order. So if your guy with a smoke grenade launcher decides to speculatively shoot a smoke grenade over a building, the link breaks and costs a command token to re-link.

The benefits are, every model gains the following bonuses. If it's a link of 3 models, they all get +1 burst. If it's a link of 4 models, everyone gets Sixth Sense L2. If it's a link of 5 models, everyone gets +3 BS.

There are a few variants. Haris L1 as Kan mentioned. Aleph get Fireteam Enomotarchos, which is like Haris (it needs to be led by an officer type unit, and link with units from that group), but has a maximum of 4 models. Then there's Fireteam Tohaa, which is like Fireteam Haris L1, but allows any model from any unit with Fireteam Tohaa to link with any other models from any other units with the rule.

As Kan said, wait for HSN3 at the end of the year. They're revamping the rules, giving them the streamlining they gave the main rules, and introducing more types of linked teams.

You get Van Zant in Novemtober.

Honestly, they were talking about having Mavericks and Desperadoes out by the end of the year. I'm glad they did not do that, because it's more important (in my opinion) for them to get USEFUL things out instead of "Moar bikers!".

Grunt box has been out for the past month...?

The Warstore for me says its out of stock at the manufacturer. It has the Hardcase being out of stock too. I can't find them at any of my usual places either.

Edit: Just found a box on Miniaturemarket. Seems that Corvus doesn't have very good supply for the market to achieve good saturation.

To be fair, there's two sides to this. One is CB, who seem reluctant to massively expand their production, which is understandable considering they're still a relatively small company (IIRC, last count was 13 staff). The other side is stockists. While they run out of stock quickly which implies the demand is there, overstocking something will leave you with stock that won't shift. Ask anyone who ever stocked Caskudas.

I have 3 FLGS, two of which Infinity is popular enough to run regular tournaments at and have dedicated tables in the gaming areas for. Yet their stock seems like the bare minimum, either because they don't stock a lot or most of it is sold out to regulars on release. From talking to them, I'm guessing the latter. The rest sits on the shelf and doesn't really move. The third is a store with the biggest online store prescence in Australia, and they are always stocked to the gills with everything. But, again, a good majority of Australian orders go through them, so they overstock.

I normally buy off Amazon as the prices from vendors there are consistently better than either the Warstore or MiniatureMarket. But it seems new stuff for Infinity isn't easy to get there.
