For sale: one volcano supervillain lair

The Volcano House, "a saucer shaped mid-century icon perched on top of a 150-foot cinder cone," is $650,000 or best offer -- but you'll have to commute to the Mojave.

The Volcano House, a saucer shaped mid-century icon perched on top of a 150-foot cinder cone, offers rare architectural elements paired with unique 360 degree views. Once owned by Huell Howser, the late producer and host of the TV show California's Gold, the Volcano House sits proudly on 60 Mojave Desert acres approximately 45 minutes east of Barstow. This carefully renovated architectural two bedroom, two bathroom masterpiece offers multiple viewing and observation decks allowing you to soak in the beauty of the area, including surrounding mountains and the on-site lake. The high curved ceilings, open floor plan, and the multiple sliding glass doors that provide access to the viewing deck that wraps around the house, all work together to help you experience this unparalleled property. At the base of the Volcano House is a detached two-story structure that contains an oversized garage as well as an upstairs apartment that could be the ideal caretaker's residence.

Figure if we knock through where the 2nd bathroom is we could easily put in a deathray or something.

That's not THAT remote a location!

And the price?

Not to shabby for California (desert location though, so, yeah...)!

Plenty of room for expansion underground.

That little 2 story building has to go of course. Nothing less than a 20 ft steel door leading to an underground garage will do.

It needs more suitable walls to display large banners with my Evil Symbol™ on them.

And the big echo-ey throne room to amplify my evil laugh. I've actually got a nice one.

All I'm seeing is a rocket launch site (à la Thunderbirds) to take me to my orbital death ray.

Actually, it really does look like part of Tracey Island.

Hyperspace

That seems as a good launch pad for a rocket that goes to an all-glass orbital station.
Tip for supervillains: Stop making your space stations out of glass!

Peregrine - If you like the army buy it, and don't worry about what one random person on the internet thinks.

As for the house. Jeez. You'd think they'd have updated the decor at some point. How 70s???
