While searching KS i came across this interesting 28mm skirmish game set in 1970's New York, its called "New York Bop" by Ghetto Miniatures.
The miniatures are very nice looking and capture the look of 1970's New York gangs, there are 4 gangs on offer with more planned, each gang is comprised of 8 members with various different weapons and skills. The game can be played in one off games and it can also be played as part of a campaign
There are pledge levels from £5(single mini) - £115(4 gangs,printed rulebook,fan pack,exclusive KS mini,unlocked stretch goals inc)
There is also a £400 create your own character pledge

Sample of the rules:
http://www.ghettominiatures.co.uk/Kick_Starter/NYB_RULES_sample_V1.pdf
"The year is 1974 and the streets of New York are filled with pimps and their hoes, the subway is a crime filled haven and unemployment forces young New Yorkers into a life of debauchery and violence" *
"New York Bop is easy to learn and offers lots of fun between friends and enemies alike. It will immerse you in 1970’s New York, where you will fight your gang of Boppers in a one off game or as part of a larger Campaign" *
"Each gang member will have a number of Characteristics that will help them to beat down their enemies" *
"The Roster cards are designed like 1970’s baseball cards" *
"The rules will be a fully coloured book with loads of illustrations and photographs" *
* From the campaign page

C'mon you know you don't want to pass on the chance of playing our an anabasis campaign without having to use historical minis.

Fab little figures. I think they should aim to get the rules published by Osprey -- they would sit nicely alongside the Fistful of Kung Fu and Ronin rules, and concentrate on making more models.

I hope it gets done. The buy in for Lt level is a bit high for me at the moment. More than I'm willing to invest on an unknown commodity.
Been looking for an interesting skirmish game, though. I'll have to check out the rules, as I love The Warriors, which this is clearly based on.
I don't understand the gang of interracial skinheads, though. Isn't that kind of oxymoronic?

Actually in the movie the only gangs that came off as racist was the Gramercy Riff's ( the gang that was lead by Cyrus) and the Rogues.
Only they and the "Rogues" (they guy that actually shot Cyrus) had no "cultural diversity".
Admittedly it was hard to tell with the Baseball Furies and the gang of mimes (known as "The Hi-Hats") at the very beginning.

A shame it didn't fund.
Kickstarter is over-populated with projects now and there are lots of pitfalls. One of them being that just to get the exposure is difficult.
I think their best way forwards would be to offer the rules to Osprey to publish and the models to Hasslefree to manufacture and sell.
This would not necessarily involve giving up creative freedom of the the project, or financial rewards (if there are any). A deal could be worked out.
Alternatively, Crooked Dice might be interested in the figures for their 7TV family of games.

Definitely a shame it didnt fund, tonight in the comments the creator Iain has said, he will be doing a re-launch in the future, taking on board suggestions about where he might of went wrong! hopefully he will comeback with a stronger campaign and fund that time around!
