Is there anywhere that lists all of the various detachments and formations available?

I have the Space Marine Codex, yet it doesn't include the Skyhammer formation that I've seen mentioned a number of times on Dakka. My brother has the Ork Codex, which includes the Ork Horde Detachment and the Ork Warband formation, but I know there are other detachments and formations in the Waaagh! Ghazghkull supplement.

It would be great to know where all the different detachments and formations are, so I at least know what I'm missing, rather than playing against a detachment/formation I didn't even know existed (it would also be great if this list included what rules versions they relate to, as there must be formations that have been superseded by newer rules/codexes).

Who knows what I'm missing out on!

The only lists I'm aware of are those available through the list-building programs like Battlescribe. Those programs also show which resource the detachment/formation is from when you go to view or print it, which helps track it down.

Other than that, I don't think GW prints a list of all the available/legal formations or detachments.

The Blood of Kittens website maintains a compendium of both detachments and formations.

Thanks Agent, but it looks like those Blood of Kittens lists are out of date - e.g. the Eldar formations don't include anything from the current Codex. Same with the Space Marines, there are a number missing, such as the Librarius Conclave, Land Raider Spearhead etc.

Wouldn't it make sense for GW to provide a list of what's current (i.e. not superseded by newer rules) and where to find it? It would encourage people to buy more crap from them!

Blood of kittens is stupid. They do have newer versions that are updated often, but for some reason they want to keep dated revisions. (probably to confuse people.)

It looks like BoK have just stolen the list directly off Hulk at the link flukezor posted!

Just checked blood of kittens and it is really outdated.

Try battlescribe or 1d4 chan instead.
