Hi, there is someone putting on demo games this weekend figured I'd take some of the stuff I have and go play a game. Trying not to get to crazy with proxies so I came up with this:

Morat Aggression Force
──────────────────────────────────────────────────

Group 1 6 0 0
MORAT Lieutenant Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (1 | 14)
MORAT HMG / Pistol, Knife. (1 | 22)
MORAT Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (14)
MORAT Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (14)
MORAT Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (14)
RAKTORAK Vulkan Shotgun / Pistol, Knife. (22)

2 SWC | 100 Points

Open with Army 5

Or should I try for 150, I always seem to have points I can't spend though. Thanks for any input

I would take a bigger spread of things.

I assume you bought the Morat starter set, right? If so try this on for size:

Morat Aggression Force
──────────────────────────────────────────────────

Group 1 6 0 1
MORAT (Forward Observer) Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (15)
MORAT Hacker (EI Hacking Device) Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 22)
SOGARAT Lieutenant Feuerbach / Assault Pistol, AP CCW. (2 | 57)
RAKTORAK Combi Rifle + Heavy Flamethrower / Pistol, Knife. (22)
OZNAT Combi Rifle + Light Smoke Grenade Launcher / Pistol, Shock CCW. (20)
MORAT Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (14)

2.5 SWC | 150 Points

Open with Army 5

You can switch around the standard Morat Vanguard to have a Paramedic/Medikit loadout instead of Forward Observer and be at 151 points on the nose.

The reason I suggest this list rather than the one you posted is that it introduces the various Specialists for you; and Specialists are a key part of the game now and forever.

Demo games he said ...
no hacker
no FO
no fancy tricky skills like automedkit ...
the first list is a bit bland and could do with 1 heavy infantry guy, but otherwise it's more suitable to demos

You understand that "Demo Game" does not have to mean "No special things", right?

And realistically, a "Demo Game" is the perfect place to take a wide spread of things so that you can learn and be introduced to concepts that aren't simply "Stand there and shoot at things".

I perfectly do ... but the guidelines from the rulebook with the "advanced rules" section is a pretty good one
I have no problem whatsoever about taking in a huge pile of rules in one go, most of my local players aren't so keen on learning a lot in one go

Yeah, there is a reason the Icestorm demos only bring in snipers, AD, camo, and healing. They like you to get the core game before moving on. Believe me while it doesn't seem like it to people who already know the core, the concept really needs to be drive home before the more advanced stuff is added. A bland list is the way to go as some of the other guy getting a demo will be blank slates, with no clue of what is going on.

With that said have you talked to the guy doing the demos. He may be using set list anyways, with an idea of what they should teach the new player. Your lost might not fit either way.

Peter: As we all know, Christmas is that mystical time of year when the ghost of Jesus rises from the grave to feast on the flesh of the living! So we all sing Christmas Carols to lull him back to sleep.
Bob: Outrageous, How dare he say such blasphemy. I've got to do something.
Man #1: Bob, there's nothing you can do.
Bob: Well, I guess I'll just have to develop a sense of humor.

And playing Icestorm's "starter" rules do nothing but give you the "basics" of how things work.

The guy says he's getting a DEMO GAME, not an introductory game.

And since the guy is already playing Morat(hey there Religious Troops and Veteran L1 rules!), adding in Specialists is not a huge jump.

Putting it rather bluntly from myself though? Read what he posted. He's not the guy giving demos, he's the guy getting a demo from (what I would hope) is a veteran Infinity player.

Maybe you should reread he said a guy is doing demo games this weekend, not that he is getting a demo from the guy. Small but important, one is a planned day of demos the other is a demo between for him.

Notice where I suggest talking to the guy giving the demos. To put bluntly who says in going to run some introductory games, over demo games.

The fact he not even sure what point level to bring should be some indicater. The demo forces could not even be set up by a set point totals. But, more like Ice storm with 3 Li, a heavy, etc.

Whatever Noir.

I've said my piece. The simple fact is that Infinity players and their insistence on "only use the Icestorm demo rules for demos!" is why people have such a hard time grasping any of the more complex rules.

Because the Icestorm rules introduce you to what is effectively an entirely different game and don't work with anything but Icestorm's contents.

You were wrong no reasonto get snippy about it.

There's no "right" or "wrong", Noir.

The simple fact is that the OP came on, asking for input on his list because "someone is putting on demo games this weekend".

He then went on to ask if he "should try for 150, but he always has points left over".

I wrote a list that is 150 points and is what I have used as an "intro list" for someone interested in playing MAF.

Not my problem that the people you play with can't be bothered to look at the rulebook.

Well it will be my first game, so I was trying to keep it simple. I'm not to sure what the guys plan is I just saw a posting about demo games.

I have the vanguard and SWC boxes.

I would like a HI, was worried it get hacked.

Figured I wouldn't get the full potential out of an Oznat without Preta/Gakis. Would bring good CC though I suppose.

Dunno what automed kit does but it sounds GOOD.

If I go to 150pt I'd be lucky to get a primer coat on some of em

I ended up just using the demo forces he had all prearranged.
I had a father knight and 3 fusiliers against his mobile brigada and 3 alguacils . Was just a taste but I liked it, seems quite a bit different then I'm used to.
