Little late to the party here, but as many know Ravenwing had bit of an issue in terms of their HQ, and that is the detachment could only have Sammael (or Sableclaw) and Sammael (or Sableclaw!) alone. I've been reading around that this got an FAQ but can't seem to find the FAQ itself for some reason. Is there a link? Or perhaps it just got updated in the ebook?

Nope. Someone supposedly had an email from customer service saying that it was going to be added to an FAQ, but nothing has come of it so far.

I knew it was too difficult to find for it to be real. I saw quite a few forum posts saying it got an FAQ but they provided no evidence of that. I am, however, quite surprised it hasn't been fixed yet.

GW for some time now have been far more focused on churning out new material than on going back and patching existing stuff.

Given that they still haven't bothered to errata the rules issues from the core rulebook, it's completely unsurprising that they're also lagging on fixing codex issues.



Of course, that's assuming that this is even something that needs addressing in the first place. The RWSF rules function as is... they just limit you to a single HQ. We have no way of knowing whether or not that was intentional, but playing it as written doesn't break the game.

I dont think it was intentional to limit you to one HQ only, Because if so they probably wouldent have given you 3 HQ slots in the detachment..

Not saying I endorse that view, but we simply have no way of knowing what they actually intended. Or how they would say to play it in light of what actually made it to print.

You still got your 2+ rerollable cover save. Kids in other worlds are starving. Let's not be asking for too much.

On a more serious note, this is indeed strange, but then again it's GW. Is anyone really surprised at this moment that they skipped rules?

GW haven't updated FAQs in... ages.

I think some tournament circuits are ruling that any HQ taking a bike can gain the Ravenwing rule?

Certainly seems a sensible interpretation. But as insaniak points out, that's just one interpretation, and really... who knows?

It's not GW, but ATC provided their own FAQ / Errata for tournament play and ITC is using the same rules:

If you click the pdf, the Dark Angels page includes an FAQ that allows multiple HQ in the RW Strike Force but they do not gain Ravenwing Special Rule. Hope this gives you some sort of help.
