So I realized recently that I had very little experience with the Flesh Tearers Strike Force from Shield of Baal: Exterminatus and wanted to see what I could do with it. What I came up with was a list that is an absolute BLAST to play and might be competitive enough to take down some local tournaments. Note that this is not supposed to be a list I could kick peoples teeth in at Adepticon with, just one i could use to bring home some prize money at shops in my area.

The captain and warlord priest go in the flamer squad, with the warlord rolling once on the flesh tearers table (hoping for rage or hatred, though hammer of wrath and crusader are good too) and once on the strategic table. Only thing odd about this list is my inclusion of Baals instead of tri las preds, but with everyone and their mother slinging free rhinos and razorbacks in battle companies or flooding the board with bikes or ork boyz, the tri las preds have been falling far short of what I need them to do. In metas like mine, the Baal is just the superior tank.

So what are everyones thoughts? Does this list have potential?

I'm not sure what your meta is, but I would possibly consider power mauls over axes if you're not fighting a bunch of marines (or 3+ saves). That way you're still swinging at initiative and have str 7 on the charge although at ap 4. If you are looking for the ap 2 though, I would make room for power fists.

Other than that, it looks like it would be a fun list to play and I hope it works well!

Looks like a good list mate, but have you considered switching the bikes for some kind of air support? Also, your razorback seems to be a bit isolated.

Power mauls are something I had not considered, and I'll definitely give them a shot in the future. I've never been a fan of power fists, because while the extra str is nice over a power axe, the additional cost and loss of an attack is not really worth it.

Also, there are two razorbacks in this list, so it's not as isolated as you think.

Yeah, just noticed the other one.. derp. Although have you not considered anti-air or are flyers not very prevalent in your meta?

The only guy spamming fliers left to go into the Navy, so other than the occasional stormtalon or flying monster there arent many air units around here. I would rather have the grav bikes as a silver bullet vs wraithknights and the like.

Surprisingly enough, Baal Preds are pretty decent at taking down light aircraft. You average at least 1 hit from the heavy bolters and another 1 or 2 from the assault cannons.
