Would the reclamation legion and canoptek crawler box sets be a good start?

If you're super competitive, it would be the best way to start.

You're playing Necrons, you're gonna lose friends.

I'm starting to get the feeling that krodarklorr actually doesn't want anyone to play 40k. Just always laying down the hate...

Hey Resin,

Yeah, Necrons are pretty fantastic for a competitive army, but do note that every real competitive army uses the Decurion as a sign-post reading "If you can beat this army, you've got a real shot at winning a tourney".

Casual games though, Necrons aren't the best for. So much of their stuff is just so difficult to take down that even basic casual versions are a nightmare. It's part of the problem when your 'dex has almost nothing that's "bad" in it. Wraiths without a Canoptek Harvest aren't insane, and Scarabs are manageable. A single Ghost Ark is unique, and the Annihilation Barge's single-shot can often wildly miss. A Monolith is still cool to bring and eat up lots of points. Bring lots of one-of's and it should be a bit more enjoyable for both sides :-)

I actually wonder if the old RP rule would be better for casual games.

Heck even for flavour.

I think hes speaking from experience tbh, seems he plays crons as well.

I have my IG and more recently Space Wolves which I have been thoroughly enjoying but feel as if I don't really want to add much else to either. Being that IG is more of a lower tier and SW seem more mid tier I'd like to bring it full circle with a higher tier army to have the choice of playing as well.

I appreciate the input!
