Though to be fair to BF... You do get decals in the box, though PSC sell decals very cheap...

Indeed. Whilst the old 1/35 motorized Tamiya kit of the Chieftain is very cheap from most hobby I'm not going to even dream of buying it now the Meng version of the tank in the same scale is upcoming, for example.

That is one of the nice things about BF, not all shops that carry PSC models carry the decals as well, or they have them listed but have to order them in.

The main thing I prefer about recent BF plastics is the way the tracks are done, they are typically more detailed and also easier to assemble.
