We will launch our kickstarter campaign on September 24th at 17h GMT!

We already did a campaign last December, we almost did it but we launched it right before Christmas, which was proven to be a fatal flaw as we missed the early traction. We have diminished our goal, improved our website and modified our kickstarter according to feedback and... we will avoid Christmas this time, so it should be fine now

For those who don't know us already, Createyourminis is about letting you design your own miniatures through our website. You choose the type of model you want, like man or woman, then select the clothes, the weapon, the equipment. Once you are done, you choose how the weapon is held then select a pose among the compatible poses.

After you wait a few dozen of seconds for the model to be built then you can visualize it, order it (when it will be possible) or save it to be modified or ordered later.

Our possibilities are (almost) limitless !

if you participate to our Kickstarter you will be able to acquire one or all of our exclusive miniatures:

Among the numerous features, one of the coolest is the possibility to add symbols on some flat elements, usually shields, torso armors or shoulder pads. You can even add those symbols on some elements of the weapon sprue so you can convert other miniatures. If you back this project you can even provide us with symbols that will be yours only so you can personalize your miniatures even more ! (NOTE: it's different from the last time, nobody will be able to use your symbols)

And, for our richest contributors, we will add any outfit/uniform you want, for you only. You will really get a unique army!

We also made some preliminary tests for a way of switching between proportions, going from our anatomically correct proportions to “heroic” proportions, closer to other brands’. We need to know if enough people find this interesting, so we made it a Facebook additional goal, if we reach 750 likes before the end of this Kickstarter we will make all the modifications to add the option.

Try it and tell us what you think!

Hmm, interesting! I've been a fan of the concept so far, but it still feels as if it isn't finished yet. Sort of as if it's an 'early version' of what it should be. However, if you guys manage to play this well, you could make quite a name for yourselves!

I like the idea and some of the designs are pretty good. The only potential problem is that shipping seems fairly high if you wind up going with a low pledge. Also noticed a few bugs and pose issues with the creator itself.

Like the site and have tinkered around with it a lot.

I am rather disappointed by the lack of options for female minis that are not all about T&A. Also, the proportions for women is skewed in that direction as well.

That brings me to another point, proportions. There is no adjusting for weight or height and that kind of is a turn off for me.

I understand this is still in beta, but having a good idea of the different options that can be had is also ideal, right?

@Protoclone. About the female proportions, indeed the model has generous curves but don't forget it's meant to be a 3cm high miniature, not to be seen on a big screen. Without those and under an armor you wouldn't be able to tell a female and a male miniature apart.

Same thing about weight and height, small variations would be indistinguishable so it would be pointless to give that option. What about big variations then? Well, we have an additional goal to add an option to switch proportions, if enough people are interested in it then it wouldn't be to hard to add stereotype options as well, like: chubby, short, Victoria's secret supermodel...

@Barzam. For the few bugs, please let us know. You can save your model and provide us with the IDs. About the shipping, that's always the problem with small orders and there is little we can do about it. The best solution would be to find a couple of friends and pledge together, you will be able to split the shipping cost and you will get a better price per ☆.

@malika. Thank you very much

Can I propose allowing head sprues to be made like weapon, shield and shoulder pad sprues are now? That would be awesome! Maybe even allowing 4 or 5 different heads per sprue?

To quote the Star Wars:
It's armor. On a woman. It doesn't have to look feminine.

The option for weight and height doesn't seem to be pointless for other custom minis sites.
The ability to adjust these would be great for people looking to add variation to their minis.

I am rather pleased by the abundance of options for female minis that are all about T&A. Also, I'm happy that the proportions for women is skewed in that direction as well.

Keep up the good work

They already have Realistic Proportions, which seem reasonable for either gender.

Speaking of Star Wars, I was kinda pissed off when they did this to the female main character (and, yes, you could see more than the midriff in the movie):

Spoiler:

And, of course, how could we forget:

Making head sprues is technically possible and it's a request we see from time to time, our main problem with it is that we have no copy/paste tool for the interface, you'll have to create several heads one at a time for every sprue, which would be tedious until we create the tool, which will take a while.

Oh, yes, that's exactly the problem. Some people complained our realistic proportions might look odd next to a GW miniature for example, that's why we did some tests to have proportions closer to famous brands. We made it an additional goal so we know if people are interested in this option.

Before you spend a lot of time and effort on heads and especially different weapon arms I'd make sure you have got your casting materials and methods sorted out

you may well find that casting a bit is almost expensive as casting a complete miniature as one of the major expenses is the time and labour of the caster

heads that are usable on other companies minis will probably pay their way, but arms are going to be much harder to make cross compatible

13€ shipping is quite brutal imho .. why so much? :(

@OrlandotheTechnicoloured
The miniatures won't be cast (as in: produced from molds), they will be printed.

@RoninXIC
Since shipping price is such a concern we tried and lowered it and made tracking stamp an option. To make it even lower we will have to buy a cannon and fire your parcel in your general direction. I don't guarantee the result, on the other hand the delay would be unbeatable .
