I'm working on a Tyranid army right now, and even using a Citadel Crusade case, there isn't a lot of room for creatures as big as the MCs the Tyranids have. So, how do you usually carry around your MCs?

Thanks

Waiting for my shill money from Spiral Arm Studios

Aside from getting foam special cut for the beast in question(like from Battlefoam), once thing that works well is a metal sheet and magnets in the model's bases. You get a strong enough magnet and they'll stick on nicely. Great for avoiding the occasional table bump catastrophe too.

BattleFoam is the best way.

GW's cases (even the new ones) are great for infantry, but not much else.

Set up the correct way, they are pretty good at holding Rhino body vehicles, Land Speeders, etc. They could hold like four Baneblades or four Imperial Knights, but that'd take up all the space available. I have a feeling they could actually hold several MCs, but there's no way to keep them from bumping into each other causing breaking or other damage. Besides custom cut foam, GW cases are the most versatile of all the cases currently on the market (that I've seen at least). They just aren't really made for armies that field several MCs (or equivalent size models). I have a feeling that the Crusade case could probably fit *most* of my 3000 point Dark Angels army as they even fit bikes and terminators very well (just need room for my one flyer, three Land Speeders, Razorback, Drop Pod, etc. which the Crusade case should be able to handle).

I just bought a Tool case such as "http://www.bunnings.com.au/craftright-465-x-360-x-175mm-safe-case_p5810252" and cut the foam to fit the MC's I have (I have a nidzilla list).

When thought out well it holds all of my MC's (and most of my SM tanks too).

I'm sure in the US you can get access to pistol and rifle cases much easier and cheaper than the options we have in Aus.
