I have recently seen some of the models, but would like to see more, I like the look of the lotr dwarves more than most other lines, but I can't seem to find them, maybe I am looking for the wrong search terms, but even ebay returns few results. I recently purchased the warriors of dale set for 35$, is this a common price for this range of minis? How many boxes do I need to play a game?

Warriors of Dale are one of the more expensive sets, LotR-era Dwaves shouldn't run you anywhere near as much (unless you want the Hobbit Dwarves, in which case they will).

These links on Ebay.com are reasonable-ish considering they are the 24-model boxes and a set of each should see you set (With the addition of a few heroes and maybe some metal elite troops)

Warriors:

Rangers:

Failing that, both are still available from GW US, though at a rather pricey (compared to the old days) $24 a box of 12.

The LOTR dwarfs are mostly still available on the GW online store at fairly reasonable prices:

- Dwarf Warriors (12/$25US)
- Dwarf Rangers (12/$25US)

The heroes and elite units that were originally made in metal are all "finecast" now, AFAIK. Prices are not too bad from GW (relativly speaking!) except perhaps the Iron Guard, which are almost $27US for only four figures. These all show up more frequently on eBay than the Hobbit stuff below, but the metal figures are all going for a premium these days.

The Hobbit dwarfs are more limited, and more expensive, but they do have some nice models:

- Warriors of Erebor (12/$35US)
- Grim Hammers (12/$35US)

The Hobbit heroes (Thorins company, Thrain, Thror, Erebor Captain, Grim Hammer Captain) are all a little pricey, but really need a few of them are worth getting (in game terms). The heroes and warriors all pop up on eBay fairly often, but its rare to see much of a discount on these. If you can order enough to get free shipping, you are usually just as well to order from GW.

Go to swap events if you have FLGS in your area. If you shop doesn't do that then its not very good shop. I just scored a good lot of blisters for $5 each
