Subject: Dark Eldar raid the Warmasters Challenge! (Canada) - 4 rounds, 1850pts
The Warmasters challenge!
An annual 40k weekend long event. The Saturday features folks playing doubles and the Sunday hosts a singles rtt 4 round event!
I haven't been to a tournament in quite some time! I was very excited to put my dark eldar against some of the best generals in Ontario. This post is a recap, the tournament has come and gone. I had a blast and saw a lot of big names and good friends from the gaming scene! It's crazy how life and time flies. It's funny as many jut know me as "Skari" lol.
So four rounds here is my list Dark Eldar CAD and an Eldar Allied Detachment:
Dark Eldar CAD Lhamean in dual cannon venom
3 grotesques one upgraded to aberration (who is warlord)
Raider
5 mandrakes
4 units of 5 kabalites with a blaster
Venom with dual cannon
Razorwing with lances
5 scourge with 4 haywire blasters
2 x ravager with 3 lances
Eldar allied detachment
Autarch with banshee mask and shard of Anaris
5 dire avengers in a scatter laser wave serpent
5 warp spiders, one upgraded to exarch with powerblades and tl death spinner .
2 x war walkers with scatter laser / bright lance on each.
My First Round Opponent: (Diego)
My Second Round opponent:(Jeremy)
My Third round opponent (Chris - @canhammerchris - twitter )
My Fourth Round Opponent

Nice list-- I like that Scourges an Mandrakes are making an appearance, although I'm a little surprised you went so light on transports for your fragile Kabalites.
Either way, looking forward to seeing how things go (especially against those Jetbike armies)
Thanks to all for the comments! Yeah the eldar armies looked rather similar! To be expected from the top tier army. First opponent was Diego and he was really chill.
I really should have brought Lictor shame to that tournament, the meta was crazy, not a single Daemon player, and no one brought centurions.
Rick Priestley said it best:
Bryan always said that if the studio ever had to mix with the manufacturing and sales part of the business it would destroy the studio. And I have to say – he wasn’t wrong there! The modern studio isn’t a studio in the same way; it isn’t a collection of artists and creatives sharing ideas and driving each other on. It’s become the promotions department of a toy company – things move on!

Game 1 mission:
Pick an objective form a list for each objective you control at the start of your player turn. Cant pick the same one twice.
Dawn of War deployment.
Dark Eldar deployed first, and went first (opponent failed so sieze).
First turn was huge... the venoms did some work and annihilated 2 out of 3 units of scatbikes. And the revagers got very lucky and knocked three wounds off the wraithknight!
The eldar had kept a hude 9 man unit of scatbikes with seer, autarch, and warlock in reserve... and the hemlocks.
Turn two for the dark eldar, the reserves arrived... and i killed the rest of the smaller scatbike units... also killed one of the D weapon batteries.. But was in position to score on objectives well.
Turns 2-5
The large unit of eldar bikes arrived but blew a venom sky high... my warp spiders ended up killing the wraithknight! All in all the firepower I put out ended up seeing the doom of the large unit of scatbikes... I controled a lot of objectives every turn and pulled ahead of the Eldar on points... the hemlocks were very survivable.. and they were the only things left alive at the end of the game.
All in all a full point swing on the first game! I knew I was going to play another winner round two...
OK lets get this party on the road!
Of course i come up to the table to see a nasty deathstar.... ravenwing and spacewolves...
OP: I found your YouTube write up on this. I didn't link it as I'm not sure if you were going to write it up on dakka. I'm re-evaluating the armies and it looks like CAD or CAD + Allies was the go to army build.
No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.
