Just seems like a much easier way to roll dice if you have like 30 to roll, and the tray would keep them from rolling all over the table, onto the floor, etc. Also, it would make it easier for both players to see all the results.

Does anyone use rollers and trays? If so, which do you recommend?

Ermmm only when I play my IG or my mate plays his tau.... just so many shots!!

So many dice rolls, though we use this square field tray like thing used as scenery at warhammer world to do so

Yeah, I'm imagining 20 Termagants with Devourers hopping out of a Tyrannocyte and firing three times. 60 dice need to be rolled for that shooting phase. Seems like a roller and tray would be much prefered.

I want to get one, but a decent felt tray is upwards of $17. That's pretty much a unit of Boyz recently I've been using flat tupperware to great success.

I built a small Castle with a dice roller inside.

Works great.

.....so it goes.

We do when it calls for it.

Like playing on any GW realm boards lol.

Its also not a bad idea as it keeps the table from being damaged and potentially models.

the exception to all of this is scatter dice which should be close by the action.

Played orks for years and did not need them.
If you are one of those enthusiastic die rollers buy one of these.

I like dice trays and always like to use them when possible. but most of the times I don't and just find a relatively empty spot on the board to throw down my first volley of close combat attacks from the ork horde.

I was debating at one time taking a Imperial Bastion and turning it into a dice tower. I still might.

We'll just use the top of some box, like that Rhino box you brought the troops in.

I have a hand made dice tray I use to carry my ''current'' list and then roll dice in it when the units are deployed. My grandfather made the box, and it's very nice. simple wood tray, with stylised boarder, and a little mat to roll dice on.

Anything with walls does not make it easier for both players to see, it makes it more difficult for the person who is not directly on top of the thing with walls.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

Until said opponent walks over to the other side? This isn't that big a deal.

If that's how you want to do it, you're welcome to walk your dice bin over to me before you roll in it.

The flat-tupperware thing you mentioned is probably the best. I mean, my group uses a thing that sometimes doubles as a transport for two dozen cupcakes to events and such.

It is best to be a pessimist. You are usually right and, when you're wrong, you're pleasantly surprised.
