Hello! I have a Deathstorm box to start playing with a friend and iam currently putting the nids together and i have no idea what weapons to put on them..
Iam a SM guy and therefor have no idea how to equip the nids for maximum fun while playing.

So i would like some help with what to put on the Fex 2 warriors and 1 prime, The person who is gonna play the nids have never played before,
So i would like the outfit to be fun and balanced against the BA force in the box. Thanks in advance!

Since there is no model for Devourers with brainleech worms, I suggest using regular devourers on the carnifex. It is the most well-rounded weapon for any purpose.

Most people use a heavy weapon on warriors, but I'd actually argue using three of the same weapons. It will be less confusing for a first time player than having a squad with different weapons that have different ranges and effects.
Most people also tend to go for ranged warriors as opposed to warriors with melee weapons.
Note that you will not be able to model one of them as a Tyranid prime because a warrior squad size is 3 at least. So you would need at least 3 warriors + a Tyranid prime.

In order to play battle-forged, you would need another HQ to play, however, don't let that get in the way and just play the army that's in the box. Unbound is a valid way of playing, even if others might claim otherwise.

The regular Devourers IS the model for Devourers with Worms. Note how they're held in a single hand, not held in two hands like Gaunt versions. That's the official model. But it doesn't give you enough of them for a Dakkafex. Technically supposed to be four of those Devs, but a lot of players, myself included, get creative with it. My own Dakkafex have a Barbed Strangler with a Devourer cone on the tip. Nothing fancy but it gets the point across that it's two of them. Scything Talons are an aesthetic choice and currently have no impact on gameplay on MCs.

Just don't get crazy on weapons. Boys before toys. Kit out the Warriors so they match. I prefer a heavy weapon in there too. Venom Cannons are my bread and butter. Either keep the Genestealers bare or build the Children of Cryptus. I'd personally build the Children because either way, they won't see much use if you get a bigger collection.

If it was the official model, FW wouldn't have bothered making one, so technically speaking, there is one. It's just that I consider any part that's not in the box to be non-existent.
Personally, I use the two devourer arms from the box set and then I used another two from the Warrior set and went with Deathspitters on my warriors.

If he's running the BA force in the box, then you should build the Tyranids the same way.

The forces were configured in such a way that they're balanced out fairly well.

It's also worth mentioning that those units in your Deathstorm booklet?

Those are meant to be supplementary units for your Codex: Tyranids army. You can add them in and have some fun!

Whenever I got a Warrior kit, I bough a bunch of torso and leg bits from ebay bits dealers (6 torsos, 6 sets of legs, iirC), and I was able to turn 3 dudes into 9 dudes with a bunch of weapons options (and plenty of weapons left on the sprue to spare). I might of had to buy some heads too, I don't recall. Just in case you want some variety.
