So this isn't a complete list. I need some help finishing it off. I'm working towards 1850 points, and bound. Here is what I have so far.

HQ
Dakka Flyrant 230
Dakka Flyrant 230

Troop
30 Gaunts Fleshborer 120
30 Gaunts Fleshborer 120
Tervigon Crushing Claws, Cluster Spines 215
Tervigon Crushing Claws, Cluster Spines 215
30 Hormagaunts 150

Elite
Venomthrope 45
Venomthrope 45
2 Zoanthrope, 1 Neurothrope 175

That comes out to 1545 points. Any help filling in the rest? My plan that usually works pretty well is to have swarms of gaunts shielding my Tervigons with the hormagaunts up front and the venomthropes in the middle. I am willing to make adjustments to what is here as long as it adheres to the same general idea. But i also need help filling in the rest of the points and being competitive. (Note: the only new models i have access to is one Tyrannocyte. No Maleceptors or anything else. Just what is in the codex.) Thanks for the help!

Well, two things...Tervigon are a mite overpriced. And two, you need some Big Bugs.

I think if you fill out your heavy slots you'll be close to a playable list. If you like Tervigons give some thought to Outflanking one or both.

I also think you badly need to put Thorax hives on them for Electro bugs, or Shredders. Once you play a few, you can fine tune. Good luck, and good hunting!

P.S. I suggest one or two Mawlocks, and a Tyrannofex, or some Carnifexen.

The will of the hive is always the same: HUNGER

My worry is that you won't have the killing power to do anything with that swarm. No upgrades means they all hit like wet noodles. And while your numbers will allow you to cover most objectives, you won't have objective secured with the Endless Swarm so it won't win you objective games either.

It looks great for a casual game at the local shop. You might win some games against other fun/fluffy lists. What is your objective? Do you want to be competitive against the top lists or casual lists?

My objective is to be as competitive as possible with the models that I have. I don't have access to any of the new models. My strategy is to have the swarm conceal my bigger creatures combined with the venomthropes for a 3+ cover save. 2+ with night fighting. The units are big enough to kill or lock up and other infantry units and then the bigger monsters come in to kill the tough things. Am i going about this the right way?

Well then what models do you have access to? I see 90 termagaunts in 1 list and 60 in another. One has Zoanthropes and the other doesn't. So I'm not really sure what units you have to work with.

Here is what is actually competitive

-Flyrant with twin linked devourers ( as many as you can ! SERIOUSLY )
-Mawloc ( just play your trygons as mawloc, there are simply way too awsome for 140 pts... ! )
-Carnifexes with twin-linked devourers are also great for only 150 pts
-Use those 2 venomthrope for sure
-Use a squad of 2 zoanthropes and 1 neurothrope in a tyrannocyte ( it works really great and put some pressure ! )

For the rest use your imagination !

If you are interested, i could post you my list when i play tournements / competitive with nids !
