I'm currently working on an Advanced swarm squad to take to tournaments when I can, and have been mostly thinking of a 4 Storm Squadron Advanceds, all with TIE MKII, Title and ATC. Is it worth dropping the TIE MKII mod on each of them, and taking tracer missiles instead?

My gut instinct says no. I think you may get more work out of Accuracy Corrector instead of Advanced Targeting Computer. That will free up your actions for positioning.
I would go with 4x Tempest with AC, and then add Dark Curse.

Accuracy Correctors work better on generic pilots, as you can use your actions to either Focus for defense or barrel roll somewhere. Also, using the tracer missiles are kind of a waste in an squad where everything has target lock, or the ability to hit with both shots anyway.

If you're very confidant in your ability to get the whole swarm pointed at a ship you want to kill, then the thread tracers are effectively a free action for three of your TIE Advances (so that you can spend your regular action on defense or a barrel roll). Accuracy Correctors are good, but an ATC is potentially better - if you can get a ship targeted and also keep it in arc. The TIE Mk II is facilitating your ability to do that - you can probably pull it off on your first flyby, but you'll eventually have to do a K-Turn to get turned around, at which point you'll be stressed have limited options for de-stressing. Thread Tracers can also help with that (since they will grant target lock tokens even if you're stressed), but that's kind of a dicey proposition.
Thread Tracers make more sense with the higher-level TIEs, who benefit more from using the Advanced Targeting Computer. But for the generic TIEs, I really think that Accuracy Correctors or Sensor Jammers make more sense. Against ships who are moving first, you're going to have fewer chances to actually acquire target lock the ship that you're actually going to have arc on in shooting phase. And when you're shooting second, defensive actions are more efficient - you can hold on to that focus token for defense, then spend it on shooting if didn't need it.

...or you could give them all EU and Boost all over the place. That might be annoying.
Err... you need to downgrade them all to Tempest though. Might be hard then.

AC/DC (four Tempest with Accuracy Corrector and "Dark Curse") is a very annoying list to fly against. Since the Tempests are guaranteed to get two hits per attack, they can spend their action on an evade, which is helpful with their three native agility. Plus, Dark Curse is a giant pain in the ass to kill...

Heh. I bought two of each. Looks like I can try this build without proxies.
