Check your rulebooks for the first part.

I don't find them in the 7th edition. I have imperial armour 13 but it doesn't break rules down except for special rules of specific models

Armoured Ceramite makes vehicles immune to the Melta rule.

But take note that Melta bombs are not affected by armored ceramite, as they have the Armorbane rule instead.

I would think Armored Ceramite would be most useful against Chaos marines and Imperials since they don't have much D, they rely on melta to take down the big stuff. Though I'm probably wrong.

I wouldn't say unloved, but when the kit costs $78 and the other build option is Devastator Centurions that can tote Grav Cannons, why would you build Assault Centurions?

Magnetize them
Templars.
Mining drills on each arm...
RoC...
But yea, the price tag is waaay too high for something that is an obvious nerfhammer target for next edition.

Why would they be nerfed?

They already have all the really powerful stuff they need -Nerf the old must-have unit -THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE Or alternatively, put out a spammable direct counter (Grav vs Wriathknight)

Armored Ceramite needs to be an upgrade for regular ol' Land Raiders. There's no reason that the aircraft, the least likely to be hit by Melta weapons, gets it, and the overpriced Land Raider and his friends can't purchase it. Since I discovered that Spartan Assault Tanks could take it, I've NEVER taken Land Raiders since.
