Can I take 1 unique character as part of a formation, then take the same unique character as part of another formation?

Isn't Unique one per ARMY?

Are you a Wolf, a Sheep, or a Hound?

With my friends I would allow for two Cypher or Orikan, cause they time travel.
But If they get within 12in of each other they start to take D6 wounds per turn due to making a time paradox.

- 10000+ pts
Imperial Knights- 5 Standard Knights / 3 Cerastus Knights
Officio Assassinorum - 4 Assassins
CSM - 500pts? Maybe? Its from the Officio Assassinorum box so I'm pretty sure its not enough to run in a CAD
Vampire Lords- I have no idea I bought it like two days before I left country and they're still in storage so I'll have to see when I get back.]

The problem though is you can justify almost any special character.

For example:

Ghazkull's rok falls into the Warp. Comes out 5 years in the past. Ghazkull finds himself and teams up with his past self.
Hive Mind uses biomass to create a second (or third) Swarmlord.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.
Orks always ride in single file to hide their strength and numbers.

Well yeah, cause GW lets you forge the narrative.

I was talking about KNOWN time travelling members.
Maybe daemons would be legal, the Chaos gods could probably recreate their servants.
Except for Kulgath Plaguefather, and Kairos Fateweaver.

There's even a bit of fluff in Codex Orks along those lines. Ork Warlord Grizgutz, (a noted kleptomaniac) travels back in time via the warp arriving shortly before he sets off. He then hunts down his doppelganger so he can have a spare of his favorite gun with the resulting confusion stopping the WAAAGH! in its tracks.

cannot correlate their innate inferiority with their inevitable
defeat. It would seem that stupidity is as eternal as war.'

^ The best part about the Grizgutz story is that killing his past self doesn't erase him from existence, because Orks don't quite grasp the concept of time travel paradoxes. I love the orks' ability to make stuff work just by believing it.

Orks are like cartoons. Laws of physicis only have an affect on them if you inform them that they have an affect on them. Get a whole bunch of Orks running off a cliff, and they'd only fall once one notices that they aren't running on ground any more.

koooaei- Emperor: I envy your nipplehorns. <Magnus goes red. Permanently>
Neronoxx- If our Dreadnought doesn't have sick scuplted abs, we riot.
Frazzled- I don't generally call anyone by a term other than "sir" "maam" "youn g lady" "young man" or " HEY bag!"
Ruin- It's official, we've ran out of things to talk about on Dakka. Close the site. We're done.
mrhappyface- "They're more what you'd call guidlines than actual rules" - Captain Roboute Barbosa
Steve steveson- To be clear, I'd sell you all out for a bottle of scotch and a mid priced hooker.
