As a fan of the Shining Spears aspect, it has always kind of annoyed me that their Phoenix Lord has gone AWOL.

Because of this, I've decided to have a go at making a profile for him, please let me know what you guys think!

Eldar Jetbike(Ch) WS7, BS7, S4, T5, W3, I7, A4, Ld10 Sv 2+

Wargear:
Phoenix Armour
Eldar Jetbike
Celestial Lance:
6" S8 AP2 Assault 1 Lance
S+4/S+2 AP2 Melee, Lance

Special Rules:
Ancient Doom
Battle Focus
Outflank
Skilled Rider
Aerobatic Grace
Expert Hunter
Hit and Run
Fleet
Fearless
Eternal Warrior
Independent Character
Expert Rider (Drastanta can still fire at full BS if he jinked in the previous turn)
Lethal Charge (Drastanta (and a unit of Shining Spears if he has joined one) resolve their Hammer of Wrath attacks with their Lance weapons)

Warlord Trait:
Ambush of Blades

Points: 260

I'm not too sure about the points cost for him, as putting a Phoenix Lord on a Jetbike seems pretty powerful, OP almost. I pretty much used the profile of a Star Lance for the Celestial Lance, however I still gave it increased power in the following turns of combat as it seems a bit ridiculous to me that a Phoenix Lord use worse equipment than an Exarch.

I'd like something to give his weapon a slightly more unique flair, and I'd be open to ideas. I know there is a profile for the Celestial Lance in the Iyanden Supplement but I'm not overly keen on it.

Anyway, here we have a Phoenix Lord who is lethal on the charge, but not so good getting charged. I'd also hope that the bonus to Shining Spear squads might actually see the use of what is, in my opinion, one of the Eldar's coolest units.

Any feedback would be much appreciated! Also, any advice on how to make him would be fantastic.

Seems pretty reasonable to me. I wouldn't worry too much about the Toughness 5. It sounds scary on paper, but he's comparable to, let's say, a space marine captain on a bike with artificer armor (but no invul save).

I'm not sure what you mean about him having "worse equipment than an exarch" in subsequent rounds. Unless I"m mistaken, his exarchs don't have any weapons that boost strength on subsequent turns.Unless you meant worse than, say, a banshee exarch or something. In which case their weapons aren't worse so much as different. What I'm saying is that the celestial lance is fine, but you could totally lose the subsequent rounds bonus if you wanted to. You gave him hit & run after all (and thank you for that!) If you *did* want to drop the subsequent rounds bonus to the lance, maybe give him a power weapon to go with it? You'd still cut through most armor in subsequent rounds, but you'd be way nastier on the charge, and it would encourage you to play to his fighting style (charge in charge out) a bit more. You wouldn't even be giving up a bonus attack by throwing the power sword on since there isn't a pistol or anything for it to replace. It's fine as is, but swapping the subsequent turns strength bonus and AP for a power sword would let you justify lowering his points a bit thus making him a bit easier to fit into lists.

I'm a bit surprised you didn't work the Crown of the Seventh Sky in there somewhere. Maybe depict his model with a fancy 'crown-like" hat? And naturally you'll want to put on the nastiest lance weapon (from a Fantasy model maybe?) that strength 4 can carry!

ATTENTION
. Psychic tests are unfluffy. Your longing for AV is understandable but misguided. Your chapter doesn't need a separate codex. Doctrines should go away. Being a "troop" means nothing. This has been a cranky service announcement. You may now resume your regularly scheduled arguing.

Thank you so much for your input!!

I just worry that with jink as well, he'd be an absolute nightmare to take down, and his maneuverability is pretty insane on top of that.

Sorry, I really should have made that clear. The Exarch can take a Star Lance which gives him S+5 AP2 on the charge, and SUser AP2 on subsequent rounds. IIRC the Celestial Lance only added S+3 AP2 and then became a basic melee weapon. I did consider adding a power sword but I wanted to keep the AP2, and so the sword would be effectively useless. Though I could drop the strength bonus and also drop his points to 245. That way he is still pretty vulnerable when charged.

If I'm honest I completely forgot about the Crown! Though I remember I couldn't find anything in the fluff that showed any effects it had. Do you have any ideas as to what it does?

avoiding the lorax on Crion

Still even if powerful, there very expensive, chapter master cost range, far as my understanding only take one of them,

Yes powerful. But there's other nasty characters out there.

Sgt. Vanden - OOC Hey, that was your doing. I didn't choose to fly in the "Dongerprise'.

I have no clue how Dakka's moderation work. I expect it involves throwing a lot of d100 and looking at many random tables.

FudgeDumper - It could be that you are just so uncomfortable with the idea of your chapters primarch having his way with a docile tyranid spore cyst, that you must deny they have any feelings at all.

With Hit and Run and with good Melee abilities, this is a Seer Council deathstar's wet dream.

Yeah I did think that! While I didn't design it at all with that in mind, I feel like if it were to be used ever it would almost certainly be as a part of a Seer Council deathstar.

I think it's kinda necessary though just to make using Shining Spears at all useful. Without Hit and Run they are basically useless!
