So I painted this miniature for Shieldwolf:

And it's currently just sitting on my shelf, doing nothing. I was thinking I may be able to use him for KoW but I don't know where to put him. I currently have a KoM army (Lannister theme, so he doesn't fit), a WIP Undead army (White Walkers theme, he might fit there but it may be a stretch). Should I start another army to fit him in? I was thinking Varangur or another KoM but I don't know which miniatures to buy that would complement his look.

He looks Varangur-like to me as well.

Maybe some Red Box Evil Barbarians figures would work for his army?

Varangur allies for your KoM? If you want to go all ASoIaF, you could use them as Tyrions mountain clan mercenaries.

I have no problem with doing this and thought about it several times, but he's already in a snow base (and there's snow in his cape as well) and the rest of my Lannister army is in plains/meadows. It'll bother me since winter hasn't reached those parts yet.

Oooh I haven't considered RBG miniatures. I've always wanted an excuse to buy some.

The problem here is would they be enough to build an army? I might need a cheap source of regiments and hordes. RBG might work for the more elite units.

Hmmm, I do not know how well they would scale, but Mirliton has some of the old Grenadier Barbarians and Chaos that Mark Copplestone made for Grenadier, lo! these many years ago -

Or an ogre sized model -

8,16 Euros per package for the bulk troops and that ogre.

55,00 Euros for a centerpiece type model -

He's too tall to be a dwarf. A human adopted by dwarves, maybe.

Don't dwarves always make their tallest their king? Guess that makes him king

Potentially he looks excellent for the Northern Alliance, but that's probably 8 months away (ofc "work on your other armies for now then get a NA one later" might be an acceptable answer )

Well, I still have an undead army to buy (and finish!) so a third northern alliance (or Varangur) army is certainly possible and I can wait.

Incidentally, Shieldwolf also makes Northern Alliance models. I just wish there's more rank and file troops.

Finally, their Northern Alliance light infantry. It's decent but I think I prefer something else:

And back shot of my miniature. You can see how tall he is (definitely not a dwarf) and why the snow theme must go on: it would be a pain to remove the snow on his cloak!

They look pretty great. I'd love to see an army including those figures built up.

Russian Alternative have got some figures that would go nicely with that Shieldwolf guy.
