Vader- squad leader, concussion missile
Howlrunner- marksmanship
Dark curse
Black squadron pilot
Black squadron pilot.
I think you can see the general idea here... use Vader as a tie up unit, and out-maneuver with the other pilots, while keeping Howlrunner in a clever position to maintain board advantage .. what do you think?
Let me know
Thanks

Do you have the Raider? Because Vader needs the raider. That's the first problem with this list. Second problem is that you are trying to use Vader (An Ace) as a support ship, and Howlrunner (a support ship) as an Ace. Third problem is that there's no real reason to run Black squadron Pilots over Academy Pilots.
I'd try something like this:
Vader
-Wired
-TIE-X1
-Advanced Targeting Computer
-Engine Upgrade
Howlrunner
-Stealth Device
-Determination
Dark Curse
-MK2 Engines
Academy Pilot x 2
Fly in formation, focus fire. Once Howlrunner drops, break Vader off and start dodging Arcs.

Wired is just about useless on Vader because he's almost never stressed, unless he has Push the Limit, and if he has that, he can't take Wired. I guess it would be nice if you needed to K-turn in a joust, but it's not something I would recommend. If you only have one point to spend, Crack Shot or Lightning Reflexes would be a better choice, or even Veteran Instincts to out-PS the other aces. If you have more points to spend, Lone Wolf and Predator are good choices as well.
OP, you most definitely need the Imperial Raider for the TIE/x1 title. The ship is just too expensive for what you get without it.

The imperial raider costs a pretty penny..
I have 2 core sets and the advanced TIE.

Then don't use the TIE advanced. It's a crippled ship without the title card and upgrades it needs.
Also, marksmanship and squad leader are both terrible cards. Marksmanship is barely more effective than a focus action, but it costs 3 points and your EPT slot. Squad leader is almost always wasted points because the highest- PS ship in your list is probably making better use of that action than whatever low- PS ship you give it to.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices. |

I tried a Vader list last night against my wife. Did not end well for her.
Vader
Push the limit
Tie X1
Accuracy Corrector
Engine Upgrade
Soontir Fel
Push the limit
Royal Guard Tie
Stealth device
Autothursters
Turr Phennir
Veteran Instincts
Royal Guard Tie
Autothrusters
Engine MK II
I was grasping for points at bit for that last upgrade, I admit I could have not used it, but, eh. I was basically able to evade damage all game long, and focus a lot of my attacks.

Yes... I run Vader and Fel just the same. I love running the Emperor in a Shuttle as the Third Ship. My opponents really have to target and take down the shuttle... which leaves them totally open to being Focus Fired down by arc-dodging, 4 attack dice throwing Aces. Brutal.
Run printed lists instead of the cards when you have so few options. Most players I know have no problem if you don't have the actual upgrade cards as long as the full text is printed. Don't try that at a tournament though!

I almost feel having three actions with a stress on Vader is unnecessary. And it would free up options for other pilot skills or options. I don't have a suggestion in mind (cards not in front of me), but I bet there are better choices.

I agree.
There isn't nearly enough green on the Advanced's dial to have to deal clearing stress every turn. The only real way to fix that problem is to give him Twin Ion Engine mk.2, but you would have to give up Engine Upgrade. Predator or the cheaper Lone Wolf are good Elite upgrades for Vader, as is Veteran Instincts if you know your opponent will have another ace. Drop Accuracy Corrector and give him Advanced Targeting Computer because that upgrade is made for the named pilots, save Accuracy Corrector for the generics.

See, I feel that if I give him an Engine Upgrade, I need to be able to perform three actions to get the mileage out of him. And Boost can mitigate the lackluster distances those green maneuvers give you. Moreso with the ATC, which is useless without having that action dedicated to TL. Whereas with AC, you just keep on Boosting, Evading and Barrel Rolling (or not) and you have a constant 2 damage or better.

See, Vader already allows you to target lock and boost, so you are free to spend your EPT n something that helps you cause/avoid damage without stressing you. This allows you to take white maneuvers, which beats out being able to boost and barrel roll off of a green.

The thing is that Vader is an arc dodger, especially with EU. Vader wants to be at range 1 and out of arc, where ATC lets you essentially roll four attack dice with one of them being a critical. Having to clear stress with a dial with hardly any greens make you way too predictable. That unpredictability and damage increase is worth way more than a guaranteed two normal hits, which most ships can dodge with relative ease. Three actions is nice, but it comes with a penalty whereas just using his pilot ability does not. Remember, ATC only needs one target lock action to work because you don't spend it to add the critical. You target lock at range three or out of arc and use the remaining action defensively, offensively, or for re-positioning as you see fit. Accuracy Corrector works best when multiple ships are carrying it (like four Tempests) or as a filler (have a 21 point hole to fill? Drop in a Tempest with AC).
