Posted this in list forum few days ago but did not get much help so going to ask here. I have a box of un built reg power armor grey knights I got with a used army I picked up and was wondering what to build them as to stick them in the Libby, DK,terminator list I'm trying to flesh out. New To the army so thanks for the help.

Ugh oops I hit the wrong button. I meant to vote for interceptors - for some reason I read this as Purifiers vs. Purgation Squad. My bad.

Interceptors are usually better support for an NSF list with the libby, DK, and termis. Just shunt up and knock the enemy down.

id go for both, Interceptors are great, and very forgiving, due to their insanely high mobility, but a well used purifier squad can completely destroy certain enemies well over what interceptors could ever hope to achieve

Yeah, a purifier squad with falchions and a hammer will always serve you well. So will an interceptor squad with a flamer or psycannon (I just love shunting behind those vindicators and taking them out in a single round of shooting.). I'd go for both, and stick the purifers in a razorback.

It depends.

Purifiers have no mobility outside of transports or allied drop pods. Purifiers are also warp change hungry.
Interceptors have mobility in spades, and don't require many warp charges to keep them ticking over, however don't have the potential damage output of Purifiers.

Interceptors are a good add on to a NSF list that's built around GKT and Dreadknights, especially in Maelstrom missions.
Purifiers will probably need a list built around them, and I probably wouldn't want to play them in Maelstrom missions.

Interceptors. You don't have to pay the vehicle tax to make Interceptors useful, in an army where every point you spend matters. Interceptors are the fast, flexible counter unit you need when you can't fit in another DreadKnight.

Purifiers require a vehicle to deliver them, which adds more their cost. And while they can take up to 4 special weapons, the only useful one for Power Armored GK is the Incinerator, which works counter to your needs by cause greater charge distances and overlaping with Cleansing Flame. While Purifiers are PML2 with a potential 4 Warp Charges per squad due to combat squading, without a good delivery system, which costs ooints, they are pretty much end up giving the same WC as other units that did not need a transport tax. Purifiers only shine as an ally, not as a core unit.

Somewhere in the dark...

Interceptors!

A ten man unit with 2 incinerators which can be combat squadded where needed is great but it's their mobility plus the 30 inch shunt which makes them a better overall unit in my opinion. A combat squadded unit with two incinerators in one half and a justicar with teleport homer in the other is so useful and so flexible. And that bare bones half of a combat squadded interceptor unit with a tele homer is a great support to deep striking units because, if needed you can shunt them almost anywhere you want to help your termies/paladins arrive where you want them whilst the incinerators pick on other targets.

In this edition, even where you can put purifiers in allied pods, the interceptors cover more bases i think. Putting purifiers in allied drop pods costs too many points when you compare them to what interceptors can do for their points. Interceptors synergise better with dreadkinghts too.

In defense of Purifiers, when you take four special weapons, it means you can combat squad and get your "Purgation" squad without having to waste a Heavy Support slot on them.

Guaranteed cleansing flame after DS and then flame guys to death, I love the purifiers but the interceptors are also a good mobile choice

Remember you're going to have to get allied pods to DS Purifiers

There is no guarantee with Cleansing Flame. It a witchfire (can be denied) that requires two successes (5+ dice) and deals a random amount of hits at AP4, S5. People seem to love it, though.
